Nadeen moves through school like a queen, as a cheerleader, she has certain status, but her sidhe nature, even to those who cannot see it, has a certain pull, like a tide.

Dagmar hates it. Resents it. But she also keeps an eye on the older girl - checking in from a distance during breaks and lunch.

Nadeen seems melancholy today. Oh she talks to boys but does not flirt. She chats with other girls, but not for long. She is melancholy, but not blind.

"Are you choosing to follow me? or is it the oath?" She says one of those few times when it's just them

A taciturn grunt. "Just making sure you're safe. You're like Siv. Delicate, yeah?"

A chuckle does escape her "Don't let Siv hear you say that. But yes, I know how you mean. Don't worry though. This school isn't that cold. I'm just...thoughtful today. "

"Yeah. You seem..." A frown. "Yeah. Everything okay with the Browns?"

"Pretty good actually, I go through the motions. They're not hard to like really. But they don't know, they can't. so it's all a farce."

"They don't know anything." A sigh. "But they aren't that bad. How many adopt teenagers?"

"Not many." She concedes. "I just get bored at times."

"You know how it is, until you get sained..." A shrug

She harrumphs. "Yeah, I know. More than you, I'd think."

An amused look. "I suppose you certainly have put up with it longer, but soon enough you'll be sained. I won't. I..." footsteps? no... hoof steps approaching

"Same amount of time. A year is a year."

Zane walks up, "Hey girls, how goes?"

"Hi Zane."

"You hear the news?" he asks, "it's wild"

"What news?"

Nadeen notices the satyr has taken over the conversation and clearly means to "Obviously we haven't. Spit it out?"

He holds up a piece of paper "Saddie Hawkins Dance! Crazy huh? I didn't know this school did those"

She wrinkles her nose.

*SADIE HAWKINS DANCE! Ladies ask your Gents! Girls Ask your boys! *

"Gross."

"It could be fun" Zane says with a smile, "Why see the bad side?"

"It could be, I guess, for people that wanna do that stuff." A pause. "I ain't gonna do that stuff."

"Well, apparently some classes are bribing folks with Extra credit, so you might want to." He says "Me? I think a girl will ask me out." A bit worried for a moment "yeah ,I'm a good guy. One will probably ask"

"Maybe Eden." She shrugs.

"I think Eden's into Simon" He says

She raises an eyebrow.

Nadeen says "Well, I'm sure someone will. Thanks for letting us know, Zane"

She grumbles. "Don't see why we need this. Like dances aren't bad enough."

"You ever been to a dance, King?" Zane asks. For a moment Dagmar might look around for Siv or Sylvi, but no.. King is her too.

Her jaw juts out. "I have, Wayburton."

"My old school had them. Everybody had to go."

"okay, ust saying don't knock it till you try it.." he moves his feet, pretty well actually, "It can be fun. But since you tried it."

"Nice dancing," nadeen admits to the satyr, for a moment reading his moves.

"Thanks" He grins

"All you get is a bunch of people crammed in the gym and loud music and everybody staring at each other."

"And if you don't have some stupid dress, you get everybody whispering about it and talking shit."

"Can't be," Zane says "I've been to lots of dances, and didn't wear a stupid dress and no one said a thing" boyish grin

Nadeen turns her face to hide a smile

"See you both around,' Zane says, happy to leave on a 'clever' note.

A grunt and a scowl. Nadeen might notice the fists.

Zane walks off, showing a few dance moves as he goes.

Nadeen shakes her head, "Satyrs."

"Boys." Icy scorn.

"They can be useful, I'm told," Nadeen says.

"They really aren't. They suck."

"They become men, men like our fathers. Mr. Brown's a good fellow, and Jaymes is too."
