"Sure, would have sooner but.. you know, grounded" A sigh then a warrior clasp of wrist over wrist "Sylvi and I miss you. Heck, Gerd asks about you. I know it's silly because it's not like we don't see you plenty but.. it's nice being able to bop over whenever I like. It's so quiet here. Lodge gets full sometimes."

"Aw, Lodge is cool. I like the Lodge. But... I really like the Barn, too."

"Yeah" A pat of the wall "It's great how everyone chipped in, worked hard, all to make this fantastic House... for Odin" A grin

"Mew" Odin speaks up, perhaps to agree

"Of course, for Odin. Even before we met him."

Oh yes , pleased cat.

He sneers down at the dog as if to say see?

Siv laughs, strokes Odin, pats Twobit, and heads out. Leaving Dagmar with news of honorable battle for glory on behalf of Rivervale, and ..Tove Recording?

"Oh, silly cat." She collects the Siamese and heads off to find Jaymes.

Jaymes it turns out is chopping wood. While he leaves the trees alone, he's not above gathering dead wood

She plunks down on a rock, watching him. Odin is allowed to wander free.

The work is easy for him, troll strength after all, and he knows how to angle things to do it right. Fireplace worthy logs are taking shape right before her eyes

And he notices her, but doesn't speak up. Doesn't mean she's not welcome. He's just not one to talk when it's obvious there's a greeting

Dagmar is content to watch - crisp fall air, turning leaves, the rhythm of the axe...

It is almost soothing, the chunk-thok of metal hitting wood, smooth even strokes

Odin notices a particularly cocky squirrel, and goes into stealth mode- inviso cat

All is well. It... is surprising, but at the moment, it really does feel that way.

A startled squirrel and suddenly someone cant get into their tree hole fast enough

Odin's tail thrashes, but despite having no prize, he looks pleased with himself. It would appear they now have a squirrel free area

"Brave hunter."

"He's a walking lesson to the dangers of roden hubris" Jaymes agrees, then looks at her, "Help me stack a few of these. "

"Okay..." she hops up to her feet. "Hey, after, can I go to Tove's? Siv says she's recording, I wanna see."

"Recording?" His brow knits "What's she recording?" A pause "And yeah I guess."

"I dunno - music, maybe?"

"I guess so, maybe she's making someone a mixed tape. Sure you can go. She'll be happy to see you and I know you want to say hi to Racer"

"Ulterior motives, sure! Oh, and Siv brought over Iowa ham."

"Ham's good" He says intrigued "Better than the truck load of squash anyway"

"Ew. Yeah."

"Yeah. I know it's good for us, but give me meat any day" The wood is piled up easily enough

"I made a sandwich already, that's okay, right?"

"Were you hungry?"

"Yeah..."

"Then it sounds okay to me" He nods

"There's lots left!" She assures.

"Thanks." he nods "Maybe I'll have one later."

"Well, you did just chop a sh-... a ton of wood."

"Okay okay, I'll be good and eat one while you're at Tove's okay?"

"Good plan. I'll be back soon!"

A quick trip for the grounded not so grounded girl! Racer is on the porch in the distance, but when he sees her, a tail wag. She hears Torin say "go tell her hello".... and ZIIIIP like a shot the greyhound crosses the distance to circle her!

"Hey boy! Race!" And she runs!

Not even a contest.. the sight hound is at the porch waiting for her for that last bit. Mind you, he is panting, but happily.

"And Racer wiiiinnnnnnnnnsss. Hi Torin."

"Hello young lady. " He pats the dog "Thanks for exercising Racer."

"No problemo. Siv said Tove's recording, can I go say hi and see?"

"You heard about that? Yes, but wait until you hear silence before you knock"

She nods. "Sure, can do... thanks!" And in she goes, thudding upstairs.

Well, the cottage is really just a small kitchen, two servicable bedrooms (Though tall) and a parlor/living room that barely deserves the title. Compared to the farmhouse it feels a bit cramped. But there she is on Tove's door hearing music playing and a language she doesn't understand, not in her head, but it feels familiar to her heart

No stairs. But she listens outside the door!

Finally the music ends and "That's a very old edda about the Vanir Aesir legends. THe lyrics are actually quite sad but it's so lovely you can forget that if you're not careful.
