"And, it's also possible it was just a nightmare Chimera"

"That's true, too." She nods. "Where were they coming from, do you know?"

"No, but I would have recognized them if I found their corpses." He says rather grimly "by the treasure they had"

"What was it?"

"A hatchet, about yay big. It started as a North Eastern tribe thing I believe, but by agreement all honor it. It's never to be used in war. Instead, you throw it down into the dirt... hence the term 'burying the hatchet'. It sound funny, but no more so than some our own treasures. From what I understand there's a medicine about it, a peace medicine, the one who has thrown it down dare not attack, but nor will they be attacked. And the others have to hear them out...and will know the truth of their peaceful intentions. Chief Greyhawk is said to have one"

"If they tried that with any non-Nunnehi, maybe the 'medicine' wouldn't work?" The word is still odd for her.

"Possibly not, but even a non Nunnehi can use it if I hear right. Of course, I'm a not a Nunnehi nor a sorcerer. I'm good at Soveriegn and a few other arts"

"But I'm not as lore wise as say your Mountain must be"

She nods "I'm pretty good at Troll lore, but otherwise..." She shakes her head. "And zip about Nunnehi, other than what I'm learning here." A bit of a grin. "I may need to get a new notebook before I leave."

"Ha, we can get you to a store" A nod "And I think your lodge and it's mountain will be happy for the non troll lore you bring." The dishes are finally done . Not bad for a Gwydion..oh wait, on that pinkish plate. He missed a spot

She looks at it a moment. "My Lord...you said you disliked it when somebody re-cleaned dishes you had helped with, right?"

"Uh huh?" Dubious brow

A slight clearing of throat and a significant nod towards the plate in question.

"mmm?" he glances eyes missing it then.. a sigh "Son of a .. biscuit eater" He amends and gets back to it "Thanks for the catch"

She nods and doesn't say any more about it, tidying up the wash area almost out of reflex.

"Oh you don't have to... mm well, thank you" He looks over a few more of his dishes but finding none others with spots he puts the dried ones up . That's when a Thane comes in, "Milord?"

"Yes?" He says

"Two of the locals report there was a nightmare chimera, a snow snake..no one was hurt. They were saved by two young wilders. One a sidhe, the other a troll...with a glass arm. I thought you might want us to see if the snake had a nest"

Sylvi threatens to give herself whiplash, turning so quickly. Her eyes are very wide.

"By all means, kitchen chores can wait. Where are these two young wilders?" He removes his apron and whistles for his armor //"Not sure, Lord. I think they might have gotten lost."

"I...my lord, I think I know one of them. If you don't mind me using my phone....?"

"Surely" He says

She quickly puts the apron away, fishes her phone out of a belt pouch, and dials Colton.

(SOunds on the phone)"I've got it, I've got it..." Fumbling and "Hello? Sylvi?"

"Colton! Are you in Alaska?"

"Ah, yes. in fact, I think I'm on your island. Welll, not YOUR ISland...but you know what I mean"

a pause "How'd you know?"

"You're with a sidhe? What's going on? They just said a guy with a glass arm and a sidhe killed a snow snake."

'Yeah, her name is Honoria? she's a squire like me at Earth RUnes. I wanted to drop by and see you before we went on this quest to..well, probably better to tell you in person"

"Sure, right, of course. I'm here with Baron Idris and one of his thanes. People are wondering if you know how to find the 'hold."

"I think we missed it.. got a lay out?" And she can do that yes.

She gets the directions to him. "The Baron's about to ride out to see if the snake had a nest...so I don't know if I'll be here when you get here."

"Oh, we'll uhm we'll wait for you when we get there and you're not there then?"

The baron overhears this part "Feel free to stay here, Emmisary. I've got this"

"Yes. Sure. Right." Suddenly awkward, and then the baron speaks. "Um...if you're sure, lord?"

"Sure, unless you need an excuse not to see him?" the last said quieter kinder

She shakes her head emphatically and grins just a bit. "No, my lord. Not at all."

A grin "Then stick around. Go get gussied up if you want to. I'll be back to meet the boy and his friend later"

A blush. "Thank you." Then back to the phone, "Colton, I'll be here, see you soon."

"Great. I've missed you" and the phone clicks off

The baron is gone.

And... Sylvi uhm...has a boyfriend on the way

And Sylvi is a troll-sized blur as she heads to her room...not to "gussy" but at least to neaten up...a little makeup...hair...yes, better.

Floppsy says "Oh, you found out he's here"

"Yes. Big help you were. When did you know? And how?"

"I was out foraging. I lead them astray so when I came back here you'd have time to primp, but I couldn't find you. I searched everywhere..well maybe not the kitchen"

"Three guesses where I was." A sigh. "Well...thanks...but what if they'd gotten really lost, or ran into a Wendigo or..." She stops staring at a reflection. "What am I saying. Colton would have handled it." She turns and gives Flopsy a hug. "Thank you, you sneak."

"He's with a sidhe?"
