Sylvi bursts through the door, holds it open just long enough to get Dagmar and Flopsy through, then slams it closed, keeping as many of the swarm as possible inside.

thunk thunk splats... and so Dagmar learns that even if Chimera isn't seen by the mortal world, the chimera often act as if the mortal world does, for the swarm splatters in part, and the rest keep buzzing, but theyr'e gone.

She bounds through the door and is halfway down the concrete steps before she stops and turns. "Is this normal?"

Flopsy, the rabbit says "oh no, sometimes it skeletal remains animated by green flame lost to death."

She reaches for her halberd again, surveying the area. "Right..." And here, outside, once more she standing straight - for once not feeling hemmed in by a world that doesn't quite fit.

It feels good to stretch to be allowed to be tall!

For Dagmar, the whole school front looks..different, much of it, well, almost gray, at least compared to the burst of colors knows SHOULD Be there. It's like being color blind all your lilfe, only to finally see whole spectrums, but only in the right spots

She stares, half-extending a hand as if she could feel it - and in a way, she does, with eddies of warm and cold. Cold, but not like the snowburst around her - that chill seems as right and familiar as her new name.

"Whoa!" A voice says, a guy's.

She turns, halberd pulling instinctively into a "guard" position.

The Satyr waves, "Hey, I'm Zane. Zane Wayburton!" Devil horns, cloven hooves! BIG Smile.

She levels the point of her polearm at him, hazel eyes darting silently between him and the trolless holding the school doors closed.

"You aren't blue." Gruffly.

"No.... I'm usually in a good mood"

Sylvi checks the door once more, then sees the new arrival. "He's a friend! A friend!"

She hurries down the steps and gets between Dagmar and Zane. "He's a friend."

She draws back into a guard position. "Your friend."

'whew" the goat legged guy says "I'm a satyr. We're another kith? There are like, well, almost a dozen of em if you get picky."

"There's lots of different types of us. Not just trolls." She looks down the street, waiting tensely.

"And those are kiths?"

"Wow, she is new" He says

A long look between Zana and Sylvi, before she finally reholsters the halberd between her shoulders.

"Right, kiths." Then to Zane. "Brand new. Like, five minutes ago. My mom's going to pick us up in a few."

Zane nods, "Cool..."Then to Dagmar, "Yeah, it's ... I guess 'types' of fae? I mean, some would say species or races but it's not quite that easy."

"Fae - fairies? Like Tinkerbell? I don't think that's right."

"Changelings, half fae, half mortal, all awesome"

"If this involves glittery wings, I am out."

"Okay...so Dagmar, this is Zane. He's a satyr. And this is Flopsy. He's a chimera...like the things that attacked you, but nice."

Flopsy bobs his head sending his ears with a bit of bounce

"I don't see wings on you. Yet."

"That's the talking rabbit. Yeah."

"Easy, Dagmeister, we're allies ... right of Rescue. You'll learn that one. '

From Zane

"Dagmar." Stubbornly.

The sound of a Jeep taking the corner just a little too fast....and it pulls to an abrupt stop in front of the school. Kerri lowers the window to call out, "In!"

"Okay, Dagmar, sorry"

"Hey," Zane waves to Kerri, then he looks to Sylvi, "Want me to get your homework assignments?"

"S'fine." She hesitates, turning that untrusting gaze to the Jeep and its driver.

Zane says "Mrs Kerri is pretty cool" To encourage the new troll

"Could you, Zane? Thanks!" And without further ado, she's tugging on Dagmar's arm again. "Mom, this is Dagmar. Dagmar, this is my mom. Get in. Now." She's still looking around anxiously.

zane nods

She complies, though her expression betrays a mix of recalcitrance and uncertainty.

Kerri sizes up the new fae. "Welcome, Dagmar." She's also tall, and blue, and with horns...and sitting in a Jeep. It's a bit of a weird juxtaposition.

Better yet, mask that with a stony scowl. "Hi."

Kerri nods. "I know this is strange, but we will help you." She gives Zane a wave, and once the girls and Flopsy are settled, she starts driving again.

Her height, her broad shoulders, it could be easy to lose the teenager in the mix - Sylvi's age, maybe a little older. She feels a bit "unfinished" still, and the scowl is softened by traces of roundness left on her face. "What do you get out of it?"

"It's not like that," Sylvi says. "It's our job. It's any fae's job to help a new fae. It's part of ...a code we live by. The Escheat."

A snort. "Right."

Flopsy says "Ah, a cynic, the price of everything and the value of nothing"

"Whatever, rabbit." She huffs, bristling.
