Kerri speaks up, "Dagmar, I know it's different from the way of the world you've known...but this is a new life you're stepping into." She spares a glance while she drives. "That's not to say....the everybody plays by all of the same rules."

"That's how the world works, too, ain't it? Rules for me, rules for thee."

Flopsy ponders, "Dagmar, I have advised Sylvi sense her passage into Wilderhood. Allow me to advise you, if you go looking for the flaws in any system you're going to find them."

"Hm." Kerri glances through the rear-view mirror to where Sylvi sits in the back seat.

A grunt and a shrug for Flopsy.

She eyes her reflection in the rearview mirror, reaching up to touch a ridged horn.

Sylvi glances at her mom, and nods.

Kerri says, "Dagmar, there are...a few different ways to approach our world, And we're going to make sure you hear a range of ways to do it." A deep breath. "We've got a bit of a crowd at home right now, but I think that's probably a good thing. Just...hang tight."

Poke, poke... it feels solid enough, and she can feel the pressure of her touch through the horn!

"Are they trolls, too?"

"They are, and many of them are newcomers to this land, though they're old hands at being trolls. "

"Where are they from? Are you, like, a gang?"

Flopsy says "The trolls are born of dreams of strength, and guardianship. They prefer to call their Freeholds lodges"

"Guardian..." She echoes, and a little line appears between her eyebrows.

They pull up, only to see... Olgar

Kerri chuckles. "Well, Sylvi's dad and I have motorcycles, but I don't think that's what you mean. But you're not far wrong. A lot of fae organize themselves that way...informal groups called motleys. But as Flopsy says, we have a Lodge...a place of power and safety."

"Ah, speak of the devil." Kerri parks and gets out. Sylvi says, "That's my dad," as she gets out of the Jeep as well. Flopsy gives Dagmar a rather cheeky look before slipping out.

The blight faced man nods,

She sets her jaw, bumping her chest out at the retreating rabbit.

Kerri goes to Olgar. "She's new, and she's rough. "

And then - out of the jeep, grateful to stretch again. She sizes up Olgar - adopting a rather aggressive posture and a glare.

"Come on..." Sylvi urges Dagmar out of the Jeep. The Lodge is standing there...wow....it doesn't really fit in with suburban New Jersey....

"Leave her with me a bit, I might speak the lingo" Olgar tells his wife.

"Dad..." Sylvi gives him a hug. "Dagmar just chrysalized at school. It was...kind of nasty."

She sneaks a glance at the Lodge - the color, the warmth - for a moment, curiosity and longing both cross her face before they are shielded behind the scowl.

Olgar hugs Sylvi "Nightmare Chimera. Sucks. Got it."

Sylvi nods. Kerri says, "I'm going to get you something to eat and drink, Dagmar. Any preferences?"

"I'm fine. Don't need anything."

"Perhaps not, but it might help ground you a bit. I'll fix something...you can take it or leave it." She touches Olgar's shoulder a moment, then heads up to the Lodge. "Sylvi...come help, please." Sylvi sighs and rolls her eyes a bit, then says to Dagmar, "Listen, it's going to be okay. My dad...his name's Olgar, by the way...he's cool." And she grins at her father before turning to follow her mother.

She shifts her weight, a hesitation. "Thanks, Sylvi." The words offered out without grace - nor sarcasm, it seems earnest.

Olgar nods to the two ladies in his life, who he loves more than anything, then turns to Dagmar, "Cop a squat for a sec, Dagmar. "

She folds her arms. "I'm okay standing." She's drawing up to her full height - but still running shy of the grump, no matter how much she puffs up.

"Whatever makes you feel macho," He snorts and takes a seat himself. Even sitting, the brutish looking man gives a sense of immensity. "I'm Olgar, of the Knights of the Way, better known as Rovers. We save people even when they probably don't deserve it. Most of us walk the silver, but a few hoof it Autumn World side. "

"What's the silver?"

"And you get paid for saving people?"

A laugh, "Not usually, but sometimes. We don't charge, but some of us don't turn up our nose at resources. Money doesn't mean as much to Changelings as it does Mortals. Still can mean a lot, but there are things worth more." He eyes the Halberd, "Nice slash and gash you got there. Came with you, obviously."

"You need money for anything." The scowl softens a little, and she reaches to touch it, affirming that the weapon is still there. "Yeah. It felt... I knew it would be there."

"oh? How much did you pay for the weapon?" He asks

Defensive, abruptly hostile. "It's mine."

"Yeah, but how much did you pay for it, in cash? Before taxes?"

Her eyes widen, a quiet panic. "It's mine. You can't have it."

"I didn't ask for it, did I?" He says, "I asked how much you paid for it, since, clearly, you must have needed money, to get it, right? That was your statement, not mine."

"I found it. I'm not a thief."

"But everybody needs money. Everything costs something."

"And, I never said you were. " He says raising a brow, "And as a rule, I don't like folks shoving their hand up my ass trying to make my mouth say things I didn't say. And you do have to work for 90% of things, but money isn't our usual currency, if that makes sense..come to think of it, even if it don't. It could have been gifted to you. Someone you cared. Or maybe you won it in a battle you don't remember. The point is, there's no amount of cash I could hand over right now that you'd give it up for. Look at the way you hold it? How you are ready to fight to hold on to it. If I'm wrong, name how much you WOULD sell it for. But I bet I'm right"

"So... so it's not always money. Right, whatever."

Then, with regret - "So it costs something else."

"Well, there's dross... kind of condensed glamour, and before you ask, glamour is sthe stuff your leaking but soon will be wanting to maintain yourself. Theree's favors like in "I slay that monster you give me this treasure', there's all sorts of bartering. But that's yours. If you paid anything for it I bet it's already paid in full." He pulls out a Great Axe, a brutish ugly weapon and yet, there's a grace to it. "I prefer using this. Been with me awhile."

"Oh, sweet..." Her eyes shine - dammit, no. Keep up the front.

"Yeah. It's okay."
