The Mandatory Fun was Magically Fun!

It was FUN! I mean... I have rarely been feted like that.

Can I kvell?

So I had put together what I hoped was an acceptable outfit; seasonal, festive, but kinda business cas?

And silly, cause... me.

I even went out at lunch to find a few things. The IDEA that I can go out at lunch shopping is still so amazing....

And I bounced outta work at 4 (ish - VA screw up, attempt at recovery, nevermind....)

I changed there and headed out to the Contemp-Resort to Steakhouse 71.

Our Big-boss bought us all dinner. At a steakhouse. With a cocktail included.

Yum

I had a top sirloin rare, garlic mash potatoes, and an iceberg wedge salad. We were at 2 tables, but eventually (after the cocktails arrived) crowded around the one round-top table. There were... 10 of us?

I think. Looking at photos and trying to count.

And it should be said that a requirement for 🐭 work is 💉

Good sized turn out

Some of my table-mates didn't know what to order and I offered some suggestions and people were impressed and that's nice to hear, you know?

You are far traveled and have useful experience there

But yeah, I know. It's nice to be appreciated

My steak had a wild mushroom sauce on the side and someone got the flight of 7 sauces to share and that bearnaise was a close second!

I had a merlot with my steak. The food won, I could not finish but DAMN talk about victory in defeat.

That would have been enough! I mean.. WOW.

All grown up with grown ups and no kids or spouses at a steakhouse restaurant talking about grown up stuff....

Ok, we were talking about our various watchlists but.....

It is! Because we were all very full.

We walked b/c we were all very full, that is.

While others went on roller coasters and thrill rides, I collected free cookies and enjoyed hot chocolate, cider, and eggnog.

I gave the first round of cookies to my party there, but kept collecting and the Things don't know.

Heh. Are you gonna tell them?

Oh yes! Eventually.

I did go on Haunted Mansion and Pirates. Where I got wet.

THAT was wild. Pirates. We thought we were going to get evacuated.

The ride stopped like.... a long time. We were in JUST the right spot to see the control booth... and there were a LOT of people in there, one at a time. On phone and pushing buttons and such.

Wet or not, I'm glad you had fun!

Eventually this spotlight comes on a few yards in front of us for a boat in front of us... a coordinator comes out and talks to them... and they all lift their hands up. Like they are surrendering. And then, eventually, they all wave left... then right. There was a lot of confusion about who's left and who's right but.... they got in sync.
