I was a big Battle of the Planets fan when I was a kid...but later understanding just how much it had been bastardized from the original was quite the eye-opener.

Starblazers had a catchy themesong back in the day (Explain the whole plot and sing "Our Star Blazers")

I liked Robotech and the like as a kid, sure

but all the stuff in today's market? bleach

not so much

I do, however, think that something that happened to me in my military days left an indelible mark on me that lead to my dislike of anime

one of my coworkers was all like "Hey, A.J. you like animation? check out this one I have..."

I liked the Starblazers theme, but never really got a chance to watch it...don't remember why.

and it turned out to be some hentai bullshit called "Legend of the Overfiend"

It was a much sadder show than Battle of the Planets.

Oh, yeah. Hentai is...well, it can get pretty extreme.

We all have movies or something others like or thhink is great but we don't.

like me and my horror movie collection that a lot of folks I know just find off putting for some reason

I know when I saw 'The Family Stone' I found the titular family pretty much cruel, arrogant and offensive.

Yet some of my friends love it they're like 'Oh you just don't get it" and I'm "I get it . I just don't like it. "

but then there are a lot of movies were I'm expected to cheer on some asshole or group of Assholes and I'm 'no...forgive me for my limitations. No. At least make them AFFABLY evil."

I'm trying to think of one that everybody loves but I just can't get into....

I know I was thinking of one just this morning, but it's gone out of my head.

I thought La La Land was garbage

Can't stand it. All my friends were dying about it, and I just didn't like it at all. Yup, Legend.

I admit to having enjoyed it.

But not my favorite Tim Curry movie by any stretch

Oh, Tim Curry was the best thing in that movie...but he's done far better, yes.

Now if you didn't like Clue, that may sting me a little

And I think Muppet's Treasure Island is one of the most brilliant adaptations of that book ever.

Clue was FUN.

And yes, the Muppet adaptations usually tend to be well above average. Their A Christmas Carol was wonderful, too. (though not my favorite)

Ah, another movie (different genre) for which I just don't understand the hype -- The Maltese Falcon. *snooze*
