I hate when I'm left alone to be company for other people's house guests. Fortunately, that happens far less often now than when we had a housemate.

Well, the arrival is the reason and motivation for guest room preping.

Yeah, Brekke P. My housemates are great, but they are out and about more than I am. What this inevitably means if they say 'so and so is coming over and I can't help that' and I believe the last part, but then they tell me "You don't have to play host" and I'm like... "You're not here. Who the hell is going to be doing it?" Because the timing inevitably goes off. And I have southern ghosts in my family who would haunt my ass if I just said "don't bother me." to their guests, whether I invited them or not.

AND they always make these predictions "Oh don't worry, they'll just want so and so" or "they're only here for so and so". I'm the worrier, I suspect the glass is half empty and possibly full of backwash. I keep telling them that I realize they're probably right in hoping for the best, it's healthier, but could they PLEASE just prepare for the proverbial worse instead of assuming folks will be so predictable and reasonable?

Although now I'm thinking about Wraith.....

Tell housemates you won't be there, that you're planning to go out. You don't then have to go out, but they at least can't assume you'll be there if they're "unavoidably detained."

And I mention the 'predictable' bit because they are like 'Guest will do A or B', and I'm like 'what about C ?' and they're like 'oh that won't happen'... 7 times out of ten, guest shows up, and does D! and I'm 'gRRRRRR' and they're like 'what, they didn't do C.'

And then I end up ranting in chatrooms like a neurotic. 😉

Hey, even halfway was a several hour drive for both of us! Halfway was just wonderful, we got to see Tweak and Nec!

Though in retrospect, some of her characters now take on a new light. EBG doesn't like you, he'll take you in as a guest but you may take part one of a poison. Part 2 to be used later. Perhaps Shades has hidden resentments after all that need an outlet in RP G
