"Would introducing her to the net work help reduce any favors or the like you might still have?"

"Would it give you a sense of satisfaction and self worth knowing you continued to funnel resources towards the network even in your retirement?"

An almost embarrassed shrug. "Perhaps. Just because I quit does not mean I disagree....."

"of course ,not, it's still a dream you have to... " A nod "Okay. Not until after the baby is born, okay? After that...then yes. Is that okay? You can even prep her a little during the pregnancy within moderation" She takes his hands "Of course you still want the Network to prosper. And as a DeBuke she already is a die hard modernist I bet"

"Oh heavens, Callidora, of course not untill -well- after the baby is born!" He rolls his eyes. "I understand there is a certain amount of physical recovery? And changes to the body? Not to mention the need the child will have for the mother, and what we can only hope will be an affection for the child on the part of Miss May?"

SHe blushes "Yes. And I apologize. You are not an idiot and I didn't mean to treat you like one." Then a grin "But I've got a lot riding on these three women now"

"In these three women." He correct with a smile.

"In.. my boggans are grammar nazis" She kisses him though "IN These three women. So I'm going to want to treat them like glass as they hit those final months. I'll have to curb that urge I know. It's obnoxious."

"Hm. Logistically.... how shall we do this? We should have different plans based on contingencies."

"We'll have to meet June I think. Possibly AT the farm. Ryker might arrange that"

"But ...yes. I know Caesar. He loves kids. He'll happily raise any he's allowed to"

He nods. "I'm not convinced his house is large enough for two mothers and.... well, who knows how many. However...." He points out ".... if they choose, we could know how many in a few months. That might help. Still... could be a bit tight."

"Not so tight I don't think, Caesar has other properties in this very city... most he rents out but the point is, we could put one or both mothers in either of them"

"Ah, good. That's taken care of." He ponders. "He really -must- start a trust, the sooner the better."

"AH.. ahem" She blushes

"I.. might have set up a trust last year for a future child... you may recall I was this close to ravishing YOU for procreation purposes?"

A deep sigh. "Ah yes. Well. Good.... but he should too." Her lover points out.

"My point is, I can transfer the trust to him. A lot of the money is from what he sends me monthly. When I met you , well <YOu started spoiling me and I was happy to take advantage" A wink "But that idn't stop royalties from his smilebright toothpaste commercials from still filtering into my accounts per his wishes"

A chuckle. "Oh, very well...."

"Were you looking forward to being the hero in this?" A grin wicked "Our gallant white knight? The fairy god farther? Bucking for one of the children to have William as a middle name?"

He snorts dismissively. "If my legacy is not secure by now, I will have none."

"Would you like me to knit them booties with the words 'sic semper tyranus' in the lacing?"

He gives her an arch look.

She looks delightfully demure "I'm not as cute as I think I am I take it?"

"You are, indeed, cute. And alluring. No, no, no. I will support you in the support of these children but I need no real connection to them. Safer, perhaps, hm?"

She pouts "But you'd make the best God Uncle"

"Fft." A pause. " It is possible I .... served in that type of capacity. In a previous life."

"Then... don't close yourself off completely. I won't ask you to be their grandfather, but..." A snuggle , "You've had so much taken from you. Closed off from you. You're retired. You're entitled to get some back."

"I have you."

"Forever and always" She kisses his hands, "But you have a right to more"

He chuckles. "You are a greedy thing." Admiringly.

"I am. I totally am. " A chuckle, "That's one of the reasons May Maude struck me as a possibly suitable mistress for you. I can..understand her. Though our backgrounds are vastly different"

"Miss May seemed.... hungry, to me, more than greedy."

"Oh?" Curious "Hungry for experiences?"

He nods. "A fine distinction, but... she hungers, she-needs-, for her survival. You crave, because it is delicious.... but you could go a time without."

"Interesting" CC ponders "You make it sound as if she were escaping a land of famine rather than a farm"

"For her, it is. Isolated and rejected, in addition to being the 'other' of kinain? And, then yearning for exotic locations, freedom, experiences?"

"So food and family aside, it really is a desert she's in. Interesting" A thought "And a bit ..sad. Not that I'd tell her I pity her to her face. She'll be fine thanks to us. Yes, perhaps the network would give her a cause of sorts, like minded more so than even her family"

"We shall see. Early days yet. And, she may find that volunteering at school, fostering the arts and creativity in her children, hosting neighborhood parties, and such fill the need after the child comes. It would mot be the first time."

"Ha. Point. So... Housing. Trust money. Future paths open to the mothers." Ponder "Anything We're missing?"

"DeBuke backlash?" Wry.

"Good point... we'll need to move carefully there. A whole clan of trolls ticked? Ugh.. too much brow"

A roll of her eyes, "yes yes...but at least it's not Rivervalers. So yes, chuckle a bit that my grandkids might be trolls"
