"it's the principle of the thing" CC says then looks to Bill for back up on this, "Why on EARTH would you want to get Italy in just 24 hours, or even a big city like London?"

"There is no way." Firmly. "Could you see all of America in a day? Certainly not. Two weeks each, minimum. A summer abroad."

May Maude looks surprised, then a bit embarrassed

"Would you like to leave for New York or Chicago first? Would you be prepared to leave tonight?"

"Just like that? trods aren't always safe for..."

CC laughs "We're not talking trods."

May Maude ponders "While I"m pushing my luck, any chance I can get in on a professional basketball game at either city?"

The gent shrugs. "I will see what I can do."

CC grins "My son is still a forc ein the sports world. Tickets are traded all the time. But it's not exactly basket ball season"

"RIght.. " may Maude says a bit chagrinned, "Fine. We have a trod to Chicago.. so New York City please."

He nods. "First class ticket to NYC, 5 star hotel...hmmm... I have always like the Plaza. Car service, expense account... yes?"

Eyebrows shoot up, "Yeess.. thank you"

He nods. "I will make arrangements. Now, I assume you did not pack a week for this meeting?"

"No," She frowns "I have a bag but it's gone one day's worth of stuff tops"

"Then you will need to go shopping." He stands and crosses to a desk. Some business there, and he returns with an envelope. "This should tide you over until you get to New York."

"Thanks. But we haven't even signed a contract or ..anything yet." May Maude takes it.

A shrug. "Good faith, honor among theives, all that. You know they say happens to those that cheat the fairies. Your milk goes sour." The envelope feels.... thick.

She does NOT open it to look while they are here.

"I can recommend a few places if you like?" CC offers.

"Thanks, no that won't be needful," The Iowan says "And..noted about cheating fairies. " A bit of a smile slips "Fine. Thank you both. I think I'll go shopping"

"Not at all, thank -you-." He stands and offers his hand. "I think we will all find something to enjoy about each other."

The woman smiles and shakes his hand. Firm but she is troll blooded. "I hope so." And then ..well, she heads out to shop.

CC waits until she's gone, then chuckles "Well, penny for your thoughts?"

Before she goes and unless she objects, he kisses her hand and then walks her to the door.Once she is gone he turns back to rejoin CC. "Oh, Unseelie, without a doubt."

"It's almost life affirming for you isn't it?" A tease "That they can be grown even in Iowa?"

(The envelope contains $2000 in spendable-size bills.)

He chuckles, sitting with her. "It is."

She takes his hand.

He leans over and picks up the hotel phone, placing a few calls as they talk. He keeps his free hand in hets.

CC listens in, of course, shamelessly. He doesn't want it secret from HER obviously

Money transfers. Hotel reservations. Tony at the Plaza, yes it's been too long, a selection of tickets made available, oh wonderful, thank you.... yes, dinner reservations too, perfect. First class airfare. Car service. Exhausting, really.

She grins as he makes it happen, and texts to her son about possibly arranging a surprise sporting event of some sort in NYC. THen when both are done, "You do remember what May-Maude said? About 'zara the corruptor'?"

He breaks put in laughter again. "Our Kitten!! A mighty hunter indeed....."

"Oh she's a delight. I hope she's doing well" A chuckle "Now why couldn't Caesar gotten interested in a girl like that... innovative, lively... troll corrupting"

"Dearest, if only you had said something...."

"Oh by then she was well into Earl or he her... so sentimentalist that I am... " She squeezes that hand, "NOw, back to May-Maude. You do realize that with a bit of guidance she might be turned into an asset for the business or the like? I don't think she's the 'one' for Caesar..but that might be my mother protection rising up. "

"The thought had crossed my mind." He admits "but I didn't wish to vex you."

"No, please, go on. Given in MY brain, I easily saw her becoming a mistress/body guard for you after the baby was born, I'd like Your take"

He blinks, taken aback. "You think I need one?"

"I had thought to put her in touch with the network."

"A body guard or a mistress?" She clarifies his question.

"Yes. Well, body guard. I am well taken care of in the area of the other, thank you."

"Well honey, sometimes I worry our past life will catch up with either of us, and I HAVE noticed that most of the bouncers we hired seem to focus on protecting ME more than you" Her eyes narrow on him "It's almost as if someone insists to them on it or has them scared that if anything happens to me, they will be worse than fired...odd that" Then she goes on "But you yourself don't always seem to have many friendly eyes watching your back"

"Me? Harmless......"

"oh baby, you do a very good job of making folks think you are" ahem "But you see my concern for you at times?"

"Mm. Yes. I do not know she is ruthless enough, though."

"A fair point" She says "And obviously we're not going to put her in danger until the baby is born.. wait, that sounds wrong. You know what I mean" SHe smiles then, "You think she'd fit in with your net work? I'm curious how so"

"Not unlike myself, below the radar. You know how they view kinain, especially any other than their own." No doubt who the 'they' is.

"I found them to be tremendously versatile; they don't have the issues with banality, they are solidly linked to this world, some are Dreamers. I did a quite a bit 'economic' disruption; moving Dreamers away from the nobles to Fae that needed them. It took care, but.... it was good work. Kin can help with that."
