Emerson has set out a little repast, just something to nibble during a chat. Non-alcohol, non-caffine beverages.

He serves.

"I admit it, I did, but boy I'm glad I shopped here first. the prices there are insane" May Made says then nods to him, "Thanks. You two really want me to have this baby badly"

"Actually, I have an appreciation for the finer things in life, and I enjoy sharing that."

CC nods, "I have to agree, there's a whole world you've been denied dear, and while I can't say your condition didn't call us to notice it, I'm very glad we have a hand in rectifying it. I am a singer, but as any of my man's fellow boggans could tell you, cuisine is an art as well. Honestly, if I didn't dance every night I'd be 30 lbs heavier thanks to him." mock accusing look at him, then a smile back to her, "And of course, skybox seats are nice to have if yo ucan get them."

"They were" She admits, "not sure how you... thank you" The woman frowns "Right now, everything your offering seems so damn tempting. But you're rich, powerful, what's to keep Caesar from using that sort of thing to take the child away from me after and I'm left in the dust? I don't want the child, but... I don't necessarily want to be your incubator and then dropped. What good am I to you after?"

Emerson (as he's asked May to call him) laughs and waves the question to CC.

"First you don't know my son, tempted though he might be, he's an honorable man. Tries for Fair play. The only reason he'd ever shut you out is if you were a danger to the child and I don't think you're that do you?"

"Course not," The woman frowns.

"Secondly, you're assuming our only interest in you is for the child's sake. In point of fact, Emerson was telling me that he found you delightful. Most trolls , and their kinain, forgive me, have a hard time grasping the concept of enlightened self interest. " A glance to Emerson, "Isn't that right honey? "

"Every word." He salutes her accuracy with his glass.

"Well, you know the old saying 'look after yourself, nobody else will?" Well, it's true for some... but the truth is, my family tries to look after me all the time but they and I don't agree on what I should get out of life so I'd prefer to set things in motion myself. " A pause "I don't know about this it's really a great set up, comfy and all... but what am I going to do with myself? I want to live it up. I want to travel... but how long does this particular fairy tale ..pardon the inside joke, last before I pumpkin?"

"May, with your permission, I'll speak frankly?"

"I prefer it" She says

He nods, sets his glass down, and leans forward, fingers steepled. "Obviously, just now your body is making certain demands on you, and the child must be protected and cared for right now in a special way that you, and you alone, can do."

"Yes, your options now, due to that need, are limited. Taking a longer view, though, the process opens doors for you. Do you take the longer view in this?"

"Let's say I'd like to hear more on what you think the longer view is?" She's curious

Pleased smile. "Excellent question. Help me clarify; do you think you are unlikely to wish to be part of the child's life? I understand, of course, that could change with the arrival but.... as it stands now."

She says "i've thought about it. All the others say as soon as I look into the child's eyes I'll be smitten. Maybe I will... it's easier to care about someone you have to look in the eye, but as it stands now? I was expecting that even if I got married like THEY wanted, I wouldn't be the main influence in his or her life anyway"

He nods. "That is not a problem. The child will have sufficient care." He waves that away. "Long term, then... what sort of work do you do?"

"Back on the farm? I farmed... milked cows, dug ditches, and took patrols. I hunted. I'm a pretty good shot which is why I thought I might go into the military if need be. "

"you can fight?" CC says.

"You think Ryker is the only Kinian of our family that can?" Amused

"Excellent....." Murmured as he throws Callidora a look.

"Some of us have fae gifts that are handy for that sort of thing." She shrugs and adds. "That's definitely one thing my sisters and I don't have in common."

"May I ask...." looking back to June ".... your thoughts on our Fae political landscape, such as you understand it?"

"Oh god, tell me you two aren't working for some noble?" May Maude groans.

A chuckle. "No. We are not. My question stands."

"The one thing I agree with my family on is that this whole feudal system is bullshit," the woman says "Someone is BORN better so they rule? What kind of Nazi crap is that? Yes, they have an edge... but so what? They ran... they left...maybe some stayed but even those that stayed mostly starved with the rest of the kithain. The sidhe are just as evil as big megacoprps that try to control all the water, only with them it's glamour. They hope to take what's not theirs, then make folks BEG for it, then make them say thank you when they give the smallest part out? Makes me glad I'm Kinain actually. I don't NEED glamour as much. Honestly, I know the war didn't go right but the fact the trolls negotated with David ...it's one of the troll kith's saddest moments . I get why they did it, but it was the wrong damn call."

CC glances toward Emerson at that to see his reaction. Her brow raised indicates she half way expects his pants to tent.

He looks back at her, the light in his eye dancing, his expression asking permission.....?

A very subtle nod from CC

He clears his throat. "Your own family stands quietly defiant of the system in place.... would you be interested in making a deeper commitment.... and a deeper difference?"

"Depends on whose terms" She says cautiously "God knows Clem is kind of tolerant of them"

"On your own terms."

"I could put you in touch with a ... network.... of Fae who seek to change the established order. You could prove very valuable to them, I think. And I am a good judge of these things. And, you would have the opportunity for adventure. Travel. Material goods if that sort of thing interests you. A certain freedom when it comes to expressing yourself."

"Interesting.. these guys on the up? I don't want to end up enchanted and wearing some princess leia outfit withi a brainless smile on my face even in a commoner hold." Dubious

But he notices she's also intrigued

He nods. "Sometimes disguise and role-play is necessary, but if you do not wish to be part of that mission then you simply decline."

"So more of an on call specialist?" SHe ponders "I... could do that." A frown "If I can lose the baby fat after"

CC says "I can help you with that, if you really need it," the Satyress says "Trust me... Olivia Newton John had nothing on me."

"Whose Olivia Newsome John?" THe Kinain asks

CC shoots William a pained look.

He pats her hand. "Shh...." comforting. "Yes, I think a comprehensive program is in order. A bit of education and training while we wait, combined with light travel for as long as you can, then afterwards some physical training and introductions....."

"Great.. I think, I think we've got a deal. I want at least two years of travel on your bill...within reason... and the kid to be provided for..which I think is a given. And you let me see if I like these folks but it sounds better than being on the farm"

"Two years?" He thinks about this, nods. "I think we have an accord. And introductions as needed, after which if you choose to pursue a career with this network, I am sure they would be fortunate to get you."

"I know they would" Maude says with confidence.
