A nice little house in a good part of town.....

The sound of a key in the lock.... a pause.... and the door opens.

William slides the backpack off his shoulders to the floor, and looks around.

The smell of booze is not ALIEN to the house hold. Fine wines and liquors often accent the meals they make together.

And yet, tonight, it is quite thick

A frown, and he moves to investigate.

One.. two.. THREE bottles...

One wine, one brandy, one rum...

fine drinks... he gets the best... but they are not meant to be drunk together in rapid succession

A groaning sigh.

He looks now for the lady of the house, or a VERY drunk cat and dog.

He finds the former...

oh dear...

CC is wearing her ugly comfy robe and not much else... sprawled not on the bed but the couch... looking like a sorority party of one.

A soft sigh, and he sets to tidying up silently. Removes any leftover booze, wipes things down as needed, sets up water, sports drink, vitamins, so forth on the coffee table. He gets a blanket and draws it over her, then takes himself to his room to un-and-repack.

The knock at the door might surprise him.

He has a hand on a weapon as he answers it, cracking the door open.

"Is mom okay?" Caesar says worried from the outside "She closed the club without warning"

He blinks. "She -closed- the club?!?"

"For the night. I hope. She sent everyone home, put a sign.. and went home. When Igot word from..well, I'm not naming the employee who was worried ...when I got word i took the fastest trods I could find and got out of New York. Is she okay?"

"We had a .... oh, blast, it was a fight." He says quietly. "She's been being a satyr about it. She's on the couch." William moves aside and invites him in.

Caesar follows "Dude, what did you do to my mom?" Yes, still a son

"We fought."

"Weird, sometimes she enjoys those. What was this.." he sniffs the air "Rum, Wine, and Brandy? geez mom" Then continues "What was this about?"

"All of the above." William draws him away to the kitchen and fixed coffee. "I wanted to kill someone that insulted her."

"Oh. Well, yeah" he nods "Who wouldn't? " Caesar said then "What butt wad did this? I assume by kill you mean leave one giant bruise in a dumpster? That I can do"

"Yes, that is what I meant." If there is whiskey left he puts a drop into his coffee and offers the same to Caesar.

There is, and Caesar nods, then takes his coffee and drinks "So am I going to find out who did it?" A sip "or are you keeping first dibs?" the big man seems to accept that might be the case- he doesn't LIKE it, but he is willing to accept it

"Thank you, Caesar, let me handle it."

"if it was anybody else I'd be all over this like white on rice, you know that right?" Grumble but acceptence

"I do, and it means a great deal to me."

"Satyrs tend to explode than forgive fast... not always , but you know? i think mom might have.. well... not understood how a guy doesn't let folks get away with that shit."

"Perhaps so." With a sigh.

"You ok? I mean.. obviously for mom the answer is 'not currently no' but... for you? " He glances over "You're a bit sweaty"

"My apologies." The normally fastidious boggan says. "I took some exercise."

"Well, you'll both shower up later, maybe that'll ease tensions. Okay. I'm here... but I'm not sure what I can do.. looks like you've cleaned up the place, it should be a bigger mess than this if she's only just.." A pause "Right. Boggan. How you guys do it, I never know"

William salutes him with his mug. "I am in awe of satyr stamina. Believe me."

"Comes in handy, but back to the point- how can I help you with mom?"

"Oh, she seems comfortable enough and I have given her aids for when she wakes. Best let her sleep if off."

"Yeah.. mmph.. okay. Maybe I should just head home leave this to you. Don't tell her I rushed here. She'd just fuss about me leaving my job blah blah"

"Well, she did the same." Wry.

"Please, hasn't mom shown you her 'get out of double standards free' card? She never leaves without it"

He nods. "I was about to add, 'not that it will make any difference.'

"Prove that you know her" he smiles.

He chuckles, then sigh and glances out at the couch.

Yep, she's sleeping, but her face shows she was crying.

how can that woman make him feel bad when she's the one who took three bottles and passed out?

Easily enough. he thinks ruefully. "We will speak in the morning."

"I'll let you go... "He pats the boggan's shoulder "And Sorry.. I know she's a handful. I just... you know." A hapless shrug

" We wouldn't have her any other way." Fondly. He walks Caesar out and locks up.

The big man leaves after one more offer of any help , and then... Emerson/william/whathisname can turn to see... the satyress passed out and not smelling so great.
