"Right, Jimmy," Sylvi says, snapping her fingers. "Yeah, I wonder if he'll be her full mentor."

"Serenity, it sounds like you've been meeting a lot of the right people so far. Have you met my folks at the Lodge?"

"Hearth Kerri was very kind ,but she seemed distracted. HOnestly? I think she.. uhm " A blush "I think she and your father were kind occupiedd when I visited"

A surprised blink. "Huh. Well...I mean, it's not unheard of." But usually they aren't that obvious in front of newbies.

"Anyway...if you trust me, we can get to work on your hair right now, the cut, anyway. If you were anybody else, I'd ask if we could record it for my channel, but given the situation, probably not."

Dirk makes a face "Ugh. If your folks makes another one of you, Sylvi, I am NOT babysitting"

She gives Dirk a sneer that she doesn't particularly mean.

"I trust you, " Serenity says "And please, no recording. Dame Anne Marie, wonderful lady, is working on options for me"

Dirk? Smirks. Cauze Dirk Jerk

"Anne Marie is amazing. She has done so much to get new fae settled and in good places, whether that's here or elsewhere. You should have seen her work when the centaurs arrived." She leads the way to another room and indicates a chair for Serenity to sit in. "Let me get my stuff out of here...." She rustles around in a nearby cabinet, and all the fixings for the intended style start appearing.

Serenity is an ideal subject, she is used to being cut before a shoot after all. She holdss perfectly still when needed, and seems to take direction for head lifting well

But she does have to ask "Centaurs?"

"Pony come latelys" Dirk snorts

"There aren't a lot of them, but you might meet one or two."

She works efficiently, and without a mirror nearby, Serenity is forced to trust the process.

"I can't do a real dye job right now, but we can use a spray-in temp dye. What color do you like?"

"I do like purple... " She admits "We should probably avoid true blue, in the show that was my signature color. Not sure if you noticed but they had a color theme for each of us."

She ponders "I might try a bolder color if you thought it would work? Not orange though. Not a fan"

"No, orange wouldn't work with you. Sooooo....yeah....." Finishing the sides and back, she ties the longer hair back as she described, and then carefully accentuates the boundary between shaved and long hair with a stripe of purple on each side.

"Geez, it's like a medusa gave her the evil eye" Dirk mutters

"Sitting still means less chance of me screwing it up." Finally, Sylvi is applying mousse to the bangs and styling them up and back, away from the face.

"So me scaring her at the worst time would get me in shit with both of you?"

Dirk smirks

Serenity remains perfectly still, well, her head and face does, but one of her hands rises enough, slowly, to give dirk a middle finger

"It wouldn't be appreciated," Sylvi says with a grin. "Save it for the baddies." If she sees the middle finger, she doesn't mention it.

Dirk snorts at something, but nods to Sylvi "Yeah. So, full time President again nwo that Rutgers is over?"

"Well...kinda, yeah. I mean, I've gotta find regular work somewhere local, but I should be here on the regular."

"You finsihedd College? Wow" Serrenity says "mom and dad have a business school picked out for me" A beat "Had."

Dirk nods "No trouble. Mountain says they are hungry for fresh meat teaching around here"

"A two-year certificate program," Sylvi shrugs. "It was intense."

"Geez I bet" Serenity says

A brief sigh, but then she focuses on Serenity. "If not business, what do you want to study? Or do?"

"I want to.. well, maybe just find out. I was always in the spot light. I want to move around a bit, see what it's like to work ... not acting... but.. maybe a trade, maybe something hard at first to learn to appreciate it, and then if I do go back to the trade of enetertainment maybe... " She gestures wit ha freehand "maybe some place like this, only learn how to repair the stuff or if in theatres props? I don't know"

"Backstage work?" A grin. "That can be fun. And you've got some experience, at least for video work."

She nods then looks intrigued "Maybe here I can learn some audio work. Get the o ther side of things. Would.. would it be okay?"

"Well...yeah, but there's not much in the way of pay," she warns. "Good place for experience, and...maybe after a bit, you can get a gig as a production assistant."

"pay's not a... " She almost says not a problem, but it could be. She sets her jaw a bit "I'll find a way to make it work"

For a moment, Dirk looks almost impressed at that declaration, but if she glances back, he's apathetic again, at least expression wise

"We're here to help. That's part of the fae thing while you're new...we've gotta help you sort things out, at least for the first year, until you get your feet under you." She pulls out two hand mirrors from the cabinet, giving Serenity one and holding the other up behind her so she can see all sides of the cut. "What do you think?"

She looks at it, "It's so.. different" She tilts her head, then smiles "And DIFFERENT is good"

A sidelong look at Dirk, as that's awfully close to "change is good" -- but she doesn't make a comment on it. "It might take some getting used to. You can also wear the long part loose...it'll look completely different then." She starts putting her things away.

"Thank you, Sylvi. HOw do I pay you back?"

"Well..." She's about to say there's no need, but changes her mind. "You could get the broom and dust pan from the kitchenette and sweep up all this hair." A wink.

"You got it" She rises "Gonna repay my debts" And she moves to get that broom FAST

Dirk mutters "She's fricking seelie"

"She's just beginning to figure it out. Teetering on the line, I think, maybe."

"You didn't hear her earlier" dirk snorts "She thinks this is all Disney. I had to explain it was Grimm Brotehrs"

"Well...don't yuck her yum too much. She'll need whatever Disney thoughts she can get to make it through the Grimm stuff. But yeah, she's gotta know about both sides."

"She got testy about it" Dirk admits "I don't get her. She's terrified of me, but then now and then she 's gotta take a shot ... like a toy poddle charging a pitbull"
