The kiss had caught Sylvi by surprise. She had parted for a bit from The Fledge and Peacekeeper walked down the steps to the hold proper, and walked into a kiss. Basil's lips are as skilled as ever, the the satyr warrior is about to part and say welcome back when...

At least, he would grin and say that if he didn't have to demonstrate quick reflexes as Sylvi startles and responds to the surprise with a sudden reflex backhand aimed at his head.

Whether or not she connects, her next words are, "Holy shit, Basil! Are you okay?!"

She does connect. trained he is, but he was expecting a warmer welcome himself and doesn't block in time. He ends up on his ass, "I think we found one thing that is NOT my kink" he shakes his head "So... not a romantic gesture?"

"Oh, crap." She kneels next to him and checks his face, tilting his head with a far more gentle touch than the first one. "I'm so sorry...but you gotta admit, surprising me like that isn't the brightest move."

"I'm seeing that" He admits . Fortunately satyrs are tough just like trolls are strong and he looks not too much the worse for wear

"I didn't even know you were down here," she explains, offering to help him up if he wants.

He gets up mostly on his own but he does take her hand mostly to hold it, "Girl, you 've been awaay a lot. Prissy and I take turns protecting this place, sometimes Tikki too though he mostly works the apartments. Etsie puts me on task. I thought, if you were amendable, you and I could pick up where we left off. " And he holds up a hand "And if you met some guy or girl at the college and are now exclusive, don't worry. I get it"

Nothing like a bop on the head to soften a guys play it seems

She continues to hold his hand, and finally smiles after the concern. "I'm guessing you're in some kinda mood, hm?" She relents and leans in to give that kiss another go, this time with less blunt force trauma.

She parts briefly without moving away to murmur, "no, nothing exclusive," before resuming the kiss.

The kiss is returned, hotly, then grins "That's good news then, and yes.. I'm in a kinda mo..." SHe cuts him off with part two of that kiss. In this case, the sequel IS better

The kiss lingers and deepens as Sylvi is reminded just how much she's enjoyed Basil's presence.

The phone rings, the public phone. Possibly someone looking to book a studio appointment or make or cancel a music class.

His hands move along her back, hinting they COULD go lower...

then the phone rings "Shit"

The public phone being upstairs, Sylvi pulls back with a bit of a groan. "Hang on...I'll be back."

They COULD let it go to voicemail. No big deal.

She's already moving away and up the stairs, hoping to get to the call before voicemail.

Third ring, fourth...

A new customer going to voicemail won't leave a message, half the time, and there goes money.

She gets to the phone just in time. "Hello?" she says breathlessly. "Goldfinch Studios, how can I help you?"

Basil was about to get help from Sylvi, a whole LOT Of help and he was going to help her back, but now the phone has to ring. Mm

"Yes, hello. This is Karen O'Neil. Who is this?" Cautious.

Sylvi...recognizes the voice?

She hasbn't heard it often, but she HAS heard it, and of course, Karen and Cairrean ARE pronounced the same.... 😉

Save, perhaps, a touch of an irish lilt.

A moment as she steadies her breath. "It's Sylvia Davidson, Karen. What is it you want?" Oh, that's a chilly tone.

"Is this a safe line or not? Because it's important."

None too warm herself!

Basil walks up next to Sylvi.

There's absolutely no mortal present, but Sylvi doesn't need to let her know that. Let her struggle. "I'm afraid it's not, Karen. What is it you want me to know?"

She shrugs and leans against Basil a bit.

"Jesus, some friends you are..." She mutters, but still audible. "Do you know where Symon is right now? It is urgent that I find him." Her voice does sound concerned!

Basil is tempted to blow warm and light in Sylvi's ear.

But he behaves.

"Really? Urgent? Oh, my." She glances at Basil and rolls her eyes a bit, indicating annoyance at the caller. "No, I haven't seen him in days. Maybe I can give him a message?"

"No, you can't give him a message - Jesus, Mary n' Joseph!" A touch of brogue slipping into her tone as her voice sharpens, "because at the MOMENT he is going to be a damned danger to himself and others! Don't you come cryna me later saying I didn't warn you, because I tried."

At that Basil can hear part of it, and he looks to Sylvi a bit concerned. Whoever this is, she seems serious?

That makes her get serious. "A danger? Then you'd better tell me right now what's going on, Karen. Hang on...." She cups a hand over the speaker, counts to ten slowly, then speaks into it again. "Okay, you can talk freely now."

"Well? Do you know where he is or NOT?!"

"No, I don't, but I can try to find him, but you've gotta tell me what I'm in for if I do."

She cups the mouthpiece again and mouths I'm sorry to Basil, indicating the phone.

"What're you in for? A world of hurt. I can mitigate but not if I don't know where he IS." Sylvi hears what sounds like a boat horn in the background - a shipyard, or dock?

Basil has actually taken less offense and mouths ''if someone is in trouble, I get it''

"More. Specific." Sylvi's temper is growing.

"So you DON'T know where he is." An exasperated sigh. "You're useless. If he gets in touch, watch your damn self and CALL ME. Don't get between him and... whoever, whatever he is with, or seems to be stuck to. Like, serious obsession. You won't like it if you do."

Sylvi's eyes narrow. "I already told you I didn't know, and I am having a really hard time taking directions from you..." her voice raises "...seeing as you caused this whole mess in the first place, you absolute wench!" She disconnects, annoyed that the handheld doesn't have the same slam-it-into-the-cradle satisfaction as the phone at the Lodge.

Basil says "So angry sex it is then" Then says "Bullshitting. Babe, what's going on?"
