"or Lucia, though she might be hitting college too"

"Right. Right. Okay...yeah, Mic's part of the hold, and we'll make sure he's covered."

Jonas blinks, as he notices a cat has slide up next to him and Piper. The satyress does not know this, and he tries to think of a way to coax the cat away without upsetting Piper

Sylvi spots Mic rubbing against Jonas's leg. Well...okay, at least she knows where he is. "Guys, excuse me. I want to go talk to Etsi."

Etsi looks up as Sylvi approaches "How goes it, young lady?"

"Well, kinda weird..." she gestures at the milling group of fae and the underlying tension of the meeting "...but I guess okay. Listen," she crouches down to talk closer and more quietly. "I was wondering. If we decide to do the Vice-holder thing...would you be willing to do that? Like...help out the freehold and keep me, um, honest?"

"Hell girl, you're one of the most honest women I know... " A beat "Well, mostly honest. Still pretty sure someone farted near the fire 3 days ago and it wasn't the Cat"

"Heyyyyy!"

a grin "Come on kid, I have to bust your chops. " A pause "You do know I'm old as dirt and likely to keel over in a few years with one big party?"

"I hope you're not going anywhere, anytime soon, but if it has to happen, I hope I'm invited." A grin. "In the meantime...If people decide that's the way they want to do this, would you be okay with me suggesting you?"

"You know what kid, I love this place. I'd be proud to be considered. Sure. Be happy to" A lower voice "Sides, I am not sure what a Rikkiocracy would look like, an while the the kid'ss a hoot, I do not want to find out"

"You absolutely and utterly rock, Etsi." Sylvi grins and gently squeezes the older fae's shoulder. "Okay, let me go talk to Piper."

Etsie smiles, pats the tall girl's hand and lets her go

Piper is talking quietly to Jonas in an out of the way spot.

Sylvi moves towards them, but stays on the periphery. She doesn't want to interrupt the conversation until there seems to be a natural pause, or until she's invited over.

Jonas nods "...so anyways I started blasting..." then looks over "Sylvi, hello" A pause "Good pizza"

She half-grins. "I'm glad there's enough. Plus, there's the baked ziti from Lucia's folks. Um...so listen...Piper, I really don't mean to upset you."

A cautious look at Sylvi. "Yeah... I know."

"So...." A deep breath. "Folks have to agree to it, but I'd be okay with sticking around as long as I can as freeholder if I can have that Vice-holder situation. And, I'm thinking Etsi would be amazing for that role here. Would that...would that work? Would it be okay by you?" Genuinely concerned for Piper's needs.

"Etsi?"

Piper looks surprised, and shoots a glance over to the elder Satyr, trying to catch her eye.

"Um...yeah?" Trying to read Piper's reaction. "Like, she's wise and she's got, like, the spirit of the place, y'know?"

Etsi looks over, gives a thumbs up, and goes back to playing softly

She does the thumbs up back, and looks to Sylvi. "I mean, uh. Well. I still don't like the idea of planned obsolescence for a freeholder... but... I mean, I can't complain about Etsi..."

"Well, that's what I'm saying...I'm willing to give up the whole term limit thing as long as I've got somebody else sort of...um...spotting me, y'know?" Furrowed brow. "I still think we need to have a system for what to do when people are sick of me being in charge...."

"See, I don't have a problem with that... it was more... you know... you started something here, and then it felt like..." she scuffs a hoof on the ground a bit, "Like you were looking for a way to abandon us if the next cool thing came along."

She looks up at the troll quickly, adding, "I know that's not fair... but I can't help feeling it, you know?"

"And...uh...I don't have the best track record that way." She looks down at her feet.

"See, and I didn't want to make it sound like that..." Piper feels bad now, clearly, and shifts her weight. "But... I'm ... scared, you know? I don't want to lose what we have here."

"Me neither. But it has to be about Goldfinch, right? Not about me. I'm not the only one who could do this right."

Piper bites her lip at that. "What's "right"?" A shrug. "I like what you made. And if that's selfish of me, then, guilty."

"But I can't complain about Etsi, I mean, she's a legend. If you think having her to advise you would help, then... go for it?"

A deep breath, then a nod, and she looks up again. "Okay. So...how 'bout you tell them?" She nods towards the milling group.

"What?" She squeaks. Her head shakes.

"I know you want to keep me in the loop and all, but... I'm happier on the studio side, honestly. Call me the manager or something, but... when it comes to Freehold? That's not me."

"But, you put up the biggest opposition...." Then she stops and takes another deep breath before letting it out slowly. "Okay. Let's do this." She moves back to the dais and takes a seat. "Hey, everybody, can we sort of pull it back together again?"

"There was enough Ziti for TEN people, PRissy " Lucia fusses

"Or one me" Prissy counters

and there are some laughs as that gets overheard, but folks sort out and quiet down

Sylvi waits for the quiet. Then she says, with a sort of serious and subdued tone compared to earlier, "Okay...we've talked, and here's what I want to propose: I stay on until...well, forever, I guess, but I have vice-holders. And I think the first vice-holder should be Etsi. Thoughts?"

Eden holds up her hand "Folks should only be allowed to sing the thong song if they're wearing one?"

"She means related to the election" Lucia says

"Oh" And Eden's hand goes down

"I mean, I think that's a good rule, Eden," Sylvi says with a half-grin.

Margilta raises her hand, the young nocker blurts "But she's super old. What do we do if she dies? Feed the cat and call you?"

"Ah, Nockers" Etsi chuckles

"Well, I figure we'll have another vice-holder then. Maybe Etsi can choose a successor?"
