A frown. "This isn't my place."

A pause "Jonas? Mmm " Zane looks over at the guy talking to Piper "I find him a bit dull but he is tolerant"

"Asking your opinion about people's personality, Dagmar, not asking you to dictate policy. Honest"

"Dagmar, I'd totally ask for you to be Vice, but I know you don't want it. This isn't as much your scene as Rivervale is."

"But I'd really like your ideas about a good Vice."

"I... yeah, I don't really... fit.. here..."

Zane nods "Dagmar, you're as Rivervale as the Chief is in some ways"

"Honestly? I dunno, what about Etsi? She's been around, she's... I mean, she's a lot, but she's very positive and musical and a satyr..."

"Well, I mean, it's kind of loose here, right? So...I mean, you're welcome, but I get that you don't feel at home."

A blink. "Oooh!" She looks over at Etsi.

"Yeah, it's loose. I'm a stick in the mud, I know."

Etsie is joking around with the younger crowd, saying "That's right, I'm THE 'Okay' Boomer. " a grin ...though she might actually be Silent Gen but who pays attention

"That's not what I meant. You're solid and you like structure and service. And you're totally badass."

She adds in a mutter, "Freeze-dried a dragon."

"I mean, yeah. I like... I like knowing the rules, I guess."

"Freeze dried a what?" Zane blinks

"Right. Free-form and loose isn't your thing."

"Oh, Zane, it's a whole story. You're going to boast about it, right, Dagmar? At Pennons, maybe?"

She purples. "Um."

"Pleeeeeease?!"

Zane says "She's doing the big eyes, Dagamar. You have to do it now or she'll get stuck that way.. for months" He makes an exagerated copy of Sylvi's plead face

"I... I mean, I'm pretty happy with how I did."

Piper leans on Jonas, taking strength from his supportive presence. "I know I'm not being fair." She says to him, quietly. "But I can't help how I feel, you know?"

Jonas smiles just a bit "I have slowly caught onto the fact you have feelings. Yes."

"I don't want the role, but I don't want Sylvi to leave either." She bites her lip. A soft butt at Jonas's side, gentle. "You."

"Sylvi is going to college, not Mars" Jonas reminds "And Goldfinch is tied to dreams you like no matter who runs it. "

"It is for now. I mean, if Dirk took over as Freeholder? It might still have music, but it might all be thrash metal and moshpits. Or... god, if it was Symon, or another sluagh? Say goodbye to all of the music entirely, and so much for the parties... I sound shallow now, I bet, but... the dreams of the holder change things. Goldfinch wouldn't be what it is without Sylvi. And a different hold... I don't know if it's a place I would belong."

"You will always belong with SIv and I" He assures "But I think I understand. It a home to you, you love it"

That does reassure her, and she looks a little less frazzled.

Zane says to Dagmar "Sounds like you should be happy, Dagmar. Hey, how's Symon? Feels like I haven't spoken to my fellow Pillar in ages"

Jonas kisses Piper on top of her head then nods "Maybe you should have said who you might see as best Vice if you want to keep it holding the qualities you like. "

"Doing okay? He was up to some kind of sluagh stuff, and then we have Rutgers orientation coming up next week..."

"I probably won't even see him, because athletes have their own."

"Ah, Sluagh stuff... could be anything from muttering in adark corner to himself while he taxidermies a rat to plotting the over throw of a Varich hold" Zane nods "Well, with him it's probably reassuring he'll see 'you'? Since when has Symon followed straight lines others laid out?"

"Point. Symon is better at spotting me than I him. But, like, sometimes he needs his privacy? That house is so full right now, too..." Shrug.

"Oh. right. "

"And getting apartment stuff together, and just... woof."

Zane says "Yeah. Let me guess, you won't need much help with furntiure? I mean you can put a shot put through a passing plane"

"We got a furnished place - so it has the basics, but there's things to make it feel homey."

"Odin going with you?" He asks "Or do they allow pets?"

"Oh!"

She remembers something Symon said about paying an extra pet deposit... and Chloe trying to give Lovecraft a bath, and the cookie they needed for the poor girl afterwards...

"Oh, wow....Mic..." She looks around for the hold's orange snuggle-bug/electronics-menace.

Mic is perched on top of a cabinet behind the counter where the stale popcorn comes from... out of the way of so many who may step on tails...

Or he was... that cat has a mind of his own.

"I think I can take Odin, with a deposit..."

"I...I don't know if Mic stays here with the hold, or comes with me. But if he stays here, that means Piper needs to take care of him. I can't come back to feed him every day."

"Maybe Lucia?"
