"Yup. We're always dry" Ember says

"A nightmare, you said?"

"oh yes, dreamers fear the storm... and their dreams fuel it"

"Do you know whereabout it is?"

"I think she's saying it's IN the Storm itself" Vali suggests "Though I don't speak horse"

Cynder rolls her eyes, then nods "Yes, that's what I meant."

"Hm." She frowns, thinking. "No. We're spread too thin." she sighs.

"Oh you can't fix it. I'm just saying this is why it had such and effect on Ember and I" She says "Consider it our Kryptonite"

One fellow stirs "Senora Flame free? Pardon me. But I can't help but over hear? Why not just lift the stable ? Give me and my fellow boggans a few hours and we can get done what most would take days for. Make sure it never gets flooded again but still has easy passage for them in and out"

"Lift the stables? You mean... put it up on blocks?"

"Si.. something like that, but with enough soil and earth too that it is soft on the hooves"

"What do you think?" she asks Cynder and Ember.

"Intriguing. I'd like final approval over any stable plans"

Cynder nods "You understand" to the boggan

"Surely" the boggan says "Best to get the go ahead from the horse's mouth" A grin

"Well... sure, that's fine." Jess agrees "The two of you work it out."

"Lovely" Cynder says

"I want a race track" Ember asserts

"Thank you." she says to the boggan.

"No, Ember. We won't have a race track. We'll do our racing where it's greener , it's healthier for you" Cynder tuts

"Awww" Ember huffs

"De Nada" the boggan says "We all need proper homes, no?"

"We do. And we might have more work for you after the storm passes."

"Job security" he says with good nature "Jezus the carpenter at your service'

Said as Heyzeus, of course

Vali grins "Your name and profession are gold, my friend"

"Looks good on business cards" the carpenter agrees. He seems a jolly fellow

"Jess King." she offers her hand.

"I know" he says shaking her hand "I've lived here for two years. I go to the town halls though I rarely speak up. I came here when I heard we had rights here"

"Glad to have you."

"Glad to be had. My own house is not of my design so got a little ..drenched"

"Maybe we should do something about that, too. Something to think about."

"oh it is no trouble.. I rent. His problem. I'll find a better place"

"If you're ok with it." Jess doesn't push.

"Gracias, there are many worse off than me though" he shrugs it off

"We'll help them too."

"I would happily join in"

"Nice of you, Jezus" Vali says "But it's late. Try to get some sleep"

Jess nods, agreeing. "Thanks for your help with the stables. Rest well."

And folks settle down, including Cinder who lets her son lay against him

Jess smiles at that.

As does Vali, who whispers "I know you know this, but you got good people."

"We do." she says with quiet pride in them.

"Unless you want us, Gerd and I will probably be gone tomorrow. She'll need to sleep a lot anyway."

Gerd likely has been up for nearly 18 hours by now

"Let's go get her to put her head down for a minute. You too."

She heads back to the kitchen. "Gerd?"

Gerd says "Hey. Need some more food?"

"No, thanks. I want to you take a break, sit down and eat something, then rest. Ok?"
