"YES, looming is good" Nancy says "Geez o pete. Okay you heard all that? Or do I need to repeat it?"

"You were telling the Baron about how the County was lucking out when we came up" Vali offers

"Oh goodness yes" She says to both " The baron said other counties were in far more bad situations than we are. I agreed. The waves are still too wild htough so seaside resues are iffy. However selkies are swarming the place and he's taken them in. They've gotten plenty of food thanks to our system and he congratulates Fenix for coordinating supply and delivery. The SERIOUS thing I was talking about is a Kraken sighting. That's like a dragon level event."

"A Kraken??"

"Huge tentacles, but not a squid or ocotopus... that's a bad dream right ?" SHe says "I mean, big news?"

Vali frowns "if it made landfall you can bet it would be tearing sunkissed waves apart. Where did they see it?" Vali asks. Then winces "Apologies, Jessica. Not my place to ask"

"Tidemarch would have said." Jess tells Vali, then to Nancy "... he didn't say it made land, did he?"

"He said it was spotted stiring about ten miles off the coast, near the southern borders"

"Just stirring, or did he say if it was on the move?"

"Witnesses weren't sure but reportedly a slow move? Southward"

"Away from us." Jess judges "Ok. I'm sure Tidemarch is on top of it."

"might want to warn whoever is Count to your South" Vali advises "Or alert your Duke to see if he'd do the same"

"You're probably right. Nancy, do you want to take care of that? You spoke with the Baron, you know better than anyone."

"Happy to" She says "I've got the strongest cell plan" She nods "Might as well keep using it. "

"Thanks, I appreciate it. Make sure you stay powered up, ok?"

"You know me, Jessica, I can go all night. Sometimes even when it's NOT fun" She assures "Satyr staminia for the win"

SHe is already pulling out her phone again to make those calls

Vali grunt nods ("She's dedicated") approving

"Mm." Jess, an interesting shade of lavender, moves on.

Vali doesn't comment on the lavender and goes on with her while Nancy calls.

It clears as they continue the patrol/tour.

She will even go to the cells if any Nunnehi are left there.

It turns out, almost none are. Save for one guy...wait, that's not a nunnehi. That's a Redcap, who looks kind of beat up, but is muzzled and bound. There's a note : 'Caught Looting another Kithain's house during evac. Waiting trial'

Jess has the sense to move out of the way of the door swing before it opens. "Hi. Everything ok in there?"

"Yeah... only my genius is being interupted. You want those hydrofrazit water pumps or not? "

"Um. I don't know. What are they going to do?"

"Remove like a swimming pool worth of water out of an area in less than five minutes. " She says proudly

"Uummmm.... are there... side effects?"

"Don't know yet... great day for field tests" She grins with needle teeth "Anything else?"

"Who, um, who requested....?"

"Nobody.... I felt the muse upon me, as always, but you know what else I did it for? The people. Cause I have a furkin heart. Okay? I see people in trouble, and I wanna help. Okay? Vali looks amused "Big heart, but also big pay out?"

"Well.... can't blame her for that any more than blame me for patroling."
