Holger looks about for the Countess

She's about, much recovered.

"Countess? I am sorry to trouble you. " He says "I have brought some food from Rivervale, well, treats mostly"

"Oh, thank you. You gave them to the Ladies?" 'Of the kitchen' doesn't need to be said.

"No, they are small snacks?" He offers up the bag "Also, I was thinking of using them to gain a favor from you, but then I thought I should not bribe you- that is wrong. So it is best you take them now then hear me out so is no bribe. I must be honorable"

"I see." she says gravely, takes the bag, and sets it down next to her. "What can I do for you, Holger?"

It does have some of her favorite selfish little induglances

"I shall have to leave more often soon, to recieve training at another hold now and then, but I will return . I hope it will not take long. "

Jess cocks her head. "Training at another hold?"

"Si. " A nod

"Tell me about this."

"The young Countessa, and Salma and Ariel all think I will be a great knight one day. I do not think this is so, but I am going to be happy to protect them. One way to do this is to get a big dog. I have already begun the trade on this. You need not concern yourself with that. But part of the deal will be learning how to handle a guard dog. " he comes clean

"Who are you working with?"

"Dame Gladiola ap Daireann of Silverwolf" He does not mention his sponsor.

"Um."

"Who suggested this ... um, deal? What -is- the deal?"

"I did? sort of... I heard Silverwolf had the best dogs. ANd Azul is good, but I wanted a dog so I could be an even better protector. So a bargain was made." He is somber "I had to bargain hard. There was a trade. SHe holds my mustang in keeping"

"Where did you get a mustang??"

"It was in the box" He says perplexed

"A box?"

"Si, I liked the stingray fine mind you"

"Oh! A Matchbox.... oh ok. She took your Matchbox as a guarentee?"

"Hot wheel but si" A nod

"Sorry, Hot Wheel." She corrects herself. "Are you sure? She took a Hot Wheel as a promise you'd train with her?"

"Payments are being arranged" Firm nod "She will not back out or I shall lodge a formal complaint"

"You're paying for the training with a Hot Wheel?"

"No, that will be silly. I am getting training as part of the agreement ,the hot wheel is for the dog" A nod

"You're getting a Silverwolf puppy for a Hot Wheel." her statement is a question.

He thinks this over for a long time

"More like the Hot wheel is collateral" He explains "Please do not worry about payment. I have a sponsor"

"Who?" wary.

He straightens up proudly "A gentelman's agreement. I do not think he wishes this to be made a fuss of. But I trust him"

Jessica considers this.

"Tell me this; what hold is your sponsor from?"

THat he decides is a fair question "Rivervale"

She nods. "Ok, then."

And that seems to settle it, for her at least.

"So you'll need time and transportation for the training. Silverwolf is in... um. Apples.... New York?"

"Si. "

Jess considers "You will need spending money too. Will they provide lodging?"

"I am sure. Daireann are known for that"

"But I do not wish to put you in debt" A frown "No I will work for my pay. I can mop and sweep. I have explained this to Dame Gladiola"

Jessica rubs the base of her horns, thinking.

"Holger.... you plan to stay here, and protect the girls. Is that right?"

"Si. " A nod "They are my friends"

"Ok. See, part of -my- job is to make sure you get training, and you're right about the idea of a dog. And to have a trained dog, you have to be trained yourself. So there we are."

"So here's what I suggest; you accept my help in getting the dog and the training. You have to do the work, though. And in return, you serve Fenix and Renaissance after you're a wilder until.... um... what do you think?"

"But ... " He looks flustered
