"I looked at the basement. and the ground. I see no moles"

"Pet mole?"

"Si, I heard two folks talking in an alley, I did not know who they were, but they said you had a pet mole. Which I found odd, because they did not sound like the liked you much. I tried to get closer but there was too much light where they were"

Jess is quiet, thinking.

"Ahpuch... can you tell me what they said? From the start of what you heard to the end?"

" No.. because I was not there for all of it" He answers honestly "And there was traffic, but I did hear them say that the traitor Countessa will pay, and the pet mole of hers will help"

Jess looks very grave. "Thank you, Ahpuch. Those two weren't talking about an animal. Sometimes people call a spy a 'mole' because they move around secretly, unseen, and listen."

"They were planning against me. Us."

"They seek to replace me with a mole pooka? " A hiss

"No. They mean to hurt me. But I don't understand how if the mole is mine, the spy, I mean, the spy will help to hurt me."

"I am sorry, Countessa" A sigh "if I were a great slugh of legend like Aleksei of the 13 Toes. Todd the Gray, or even the Denier, I would have found out more. Instead i have missed clues."

"No, you've warned us when no one else did. Thank you."

"De nada, if it saves your life or your rule you're in my debt, of course." He adds, "Perhaps gummi worms every month for a year"

A small smile, albeit distracted. "Done."

"Ahpuch, could you write down for me -everything-, every detail, you remember about that incident? Who, what, where, when, why, how. Whatever you know.

"I... I told you what I know but I'll write it down too if you wish" The little boy says

"Yes please. Take some time with it, get all the details you can. Thank you. Can you do that now?"

"Si..." A paue "I could borrow the crayons and draw it for you too"
