"I am afraid not." Jessica says. "Our goal is to show him that his violent ways, especially towards women, are not in his best interests. I have provided him a way to signal if he needs to express these needs but for now he seems to be clinging to his hatred and his violent habits. So I would ask you ladies to be his nightmares tonight."

"The fear of god," the sister agrees, "Countess, we pride ourselves on non violent terror. How psychologically scarred do you want him?"

"My goal is that he give up violence, especially towards women. I do not know the root causes of his violence and it may be that he himself was damaged through no fault of his own. I do not know. I would like him to be a productive member of mortal society but if I must settle for a man who doens't hit women, I can live with that."

They whisper among each other too low for her to hear save snippets "...gynophobia installation?" "... let him experience child birth may haps? The feeling of it..." "...steal his pockets.."

"Redcaps visited and enchanted him last night. I spoke with him today. I warned him his nightmares tonight would have no teeth and he asked how that could be worse than nightmares with teeth."

"oh Countess" One of the sisters says "You lay down the gauntlet we see" The other says, then in sync "We'll gladly pick it up"

miércoles nods "perhaps if he thinks nightmares without teeth are easier, he should wake up without his? one of us, gobble gobble" A sip of tea

"No physical harm, miss miércoles" the nun tuts, "though it may come that we must read him 'next to the last rites'"

"I will leave it up to you expert ladies." Jess says.

The Sister assures, "he will never touch another woman save by her will, and with kindness alone"

"Marked..." Says Krumpett "And Mote" Says Tuffet

miércoles agrees, "He'll know why the caged bird screams"

"I plan to stop by tomorrow, mid-morning or so, and check in with him."

"Ah, time restraints..." Krumpett nods

"All the more interesting for the chase" Tuffet nods

"Is there anything else I can provide?"

"spoiled cream?" miércoles inquires

"Let me see what we have. Will you excuse me?"

"But of course" The sister says

"Thank you." she rises (carefully) and steps out to see if the ladies can have the right kind of cream delivered to them.

Diego says "They want.. well, I do have some clumpy stuff .. it's rancid"

"That's for them, then. Can you have it delivered to them?"

"Yes, with my nostrils sealed" He chuckles "How do they like your proposal?"

"They seem to anticipate the exercise." she says with a short smile "Which suits me."

"I thought they'd like it. Truthfully they're kith is hard for me to fully understand, but then, I think they like it that way. Still, nice that they answered the call. "

"It is. Sluagh haven't been a strong presence in Renaissance for those first few years, there."

"And the Varich baron not so far didn't help, but you have looked out for Ahpuch, and I think they are quite aware"

"I think Baron Tidemarch understands my position."

"And more importantly, abides by it. The man's so traditionalist I wonder if he realizes you're his main shield against a 21st century guilotine?"

"Let's not go down that road, please." Firmly.

"Wouldn't even think of it" He lies but smiles knowing she knows he does indeed think of it "Pardon, I best drop that cream off"

"Thank you, Diego."

And off Diego goes

She pauses a moment to think.... nods to herself and looks for Constance, then Dame Ash."

Constance is scribbling away at her desk

"Hey." Jess sticks her head in "Can I have a minute?"

She rises "Of course, what can I do for you?"

"I just wanted to say, I was over at the Pitt with Regent Mitra and we got to talking about the library there. She's been tweaking the collection a little and some of the Nunnehi have contributed to, or used, the collection. I thought maybe you could reach out to her librarian, make sure we have... I don't know, some kind of ... intralibrary understanding? What do you think?"

"I think I might need an assistant" She admits "Salma does wonders but she's still a bit young for me to be a regional librarian as well as scribe. I will cordinate, of course, but it could easily get overlooked if I don't have an extra set of hands"

Jess nods. "Ok. You need to be involved and make a final decision of course but do you want to undertake the search yourself or have Diego or one of his start things off and get you a list?"

"Permission to enlist Nancy?"

She nods. "Yes."

"THank you and I think we can make it work, it just needs a bit of juggling. I know Twofeathers will want to be involved..." A pause 'mm Fawna too I imagine"

"I like the idea of Johnny being involved, and don't avoid asking Otem what the Nunnehi might be interested in. Even if we don't have those works here, we can look to see if we can get them -somewhere- in the county."

"You trust Otem, don't you? I mean, more even than most other nunnehi?"

She nods. "Sure. He's been here, he's worked hard, he's proved himself to all of us and, I hope, we've proved ourselves to him."

"mmm" She nods "he's got a good chance of being raised up in their ranks officially if this rebellion of his doesn't bite him"
