As Jessica looks about to see what foes might appear, she starts to wonder what kind of nunnehi tribes are part of the Red Spear Rising group. Obsidian ones like Otem? Flayed Men? Snake faces? She's seen so many. No doubt a mix, but are some more dedicated to this cause than others, would that help her narrow it down, or bias her? She wouldn't want to be biased.. most unseemly that

No, she is a troll, she will protect all she can, and she will do it with open eyes and...

"Jessica!" Suddenly Mitra has dropped her spell and instead wyrded, raising the now solid to Autumn Shield

there's a TINK sound as a dart hits the shield instead of Jessica's neck

She blinks, then drops and scrambles for cover. Granted, there's a lot of troll to cover.

While she tries to find cover, another dart still manages to find her...

She feels rage build in her almost instantly, the desire to smash the puny elf that dared to grab her!

THen..she suppresses it!

She was warned about this. She will not betray her vassal and friend

Mitra's eyes lock into the darkening eyes of the troll "Jessica?"

"GEt away. Get the info back to Fenix. Go NOW."

Mitra backs away, turrning to see "the other attackers have run off... Sorry about this, Jessica. I'm doing it to help" She gestures at her liege "Keeping time time time time to a kind of runic rhyme" And her cantrip reaches out

Fighting her baser impulse to rend and tear, Jessica swallows it down, HARD, and tries to reach out to the magic the elf, who she KNOWS is a friend, is trying to give her.

And then everyhing is a blur around her.... the sidhe seems to almost flow back like water. In sight, but out of reach. Below her, Jessica can see mortals shooting past like sprinters

she wants to smash someone, something... as she fights the drug, but eveyrthing, EVERYTHING is so quick

"This way my liege" Mitra says "I'm going to Fenix as you command... but not without you in my sight"

So far, Jessica has it under control, but if Mitra is mocking her... is mitra mocking her? Why is everything blurring about her so quickly?

Jessica growls and lunges to her feet, fighting the urge but...

And the sidhe seems to flow , leading her leader on and on.. whenver a mortal starts to intrude, the sidhe says "Over here, Cali blonde. "

For a moment some mortal nearby looks at Jessica cross eyed. She's tempted to backhand the son of Adam to teach him to back off.. but MItra whistles at her again "No Hablo multiple sylables? If you're upset, come talk to me, Blondie"

THAT DOES IT Jessica charges the smirking, beautiful creature that taunts her.

And finds herself moving slow still... and a splash of water hits her face... removing the magical toxins. SHe finds herself sputtering in the hall of her hold

And Fontaine looks at her "There, better?"

The rage is gone

Mitra holds up her hands "I sure hope so. I can't cast that cantrip again"

Gone, but not forgotten.

"Did you get it?" she demands of Mitra forcefully "Did you get the information??"

"I did" She drops to one knee "Please forgive me. I was worried if I left you might attack a mortal. And I can take a hit better than them"

Fontaine says "Baroness Mitra told me I'm not allowed to talk about this unless YOU say so. Is that right?" He asks Jessica

And Jessica realizes only Mitra and Fontaine saw her in that state

Jessica is calming. The rage is gone but her heightened state of awaress and upset at being attacked receeds more slowly. "YES."

"Yes, please keep this in confidence, Fontaine."

"Mitra, get UP!"

Mitra does "Yes, my liege" She rises

Fontaine nods "Okay so. should I have a meal prepared by the ladies or anything?"

"NO."

Fontaine says "oh.. I'll go back to my spa, shall I?"

A grunt.

And in the back of her head, she makes a note to apologize. Later.

He backs away and leaves

Mitra is calm and dignified. And.. only now does Jessica see how drained the sidhe is. How manytiems did she bend time around Jessica to make sure she couldn't hurt anyone? She's nearly out of glamour

"Go to the Bale." she orders.

"Yes, Countess" Mitra says, and does not give lip save to say "I hope you'll join me. I can make a full report there" And goes that way
