BIC: she noties the blow dart pipe on the roof lining up with the old woman as if it was clear as a bell

Moving quickly, Jessica just scoops the woman up and steps under the bridge nearby, setting her back down just as smoothly. OOC Need a roll?

OOC: NOpe. with that perception roll she saw it coming and then some 🙂

BIC: "what is..." the woman says surprised ...and a dart plinks off the stonework near where they WerE

"Sorry, Senora Martha." Jess says, ensuring the woman is safe behind her and near stone walls and support columns. "I thought I saw someone about to throw a stone." she stands as if she's holding something her maul on guard.

"well, it is a dangerous place. But do not risk yourself for these old bones"

"Are there other bones worth risking for?" she says with good humor as she scans the rooftops.

"Ha. If you are trying to get in my will, you'll merely get some nice dishes , a few quilts, and a phone bill"

"Sounds good....." anything out there?

"well, it is a nice quilt"

she finds the needle that was fired. She suspects the attacker has fled

She wraps it up carefully to avoid a stick, and pockets it. "May I walk you home?" She offers Martha.

"If you wish" She says "my old bones do tire"

So Jessica escorts her back, eyes peeled.

And it is a safe journey back

Jessica considers for a moment, looks at the list of names and locations.

The third name on the list is the last

Tempted as she is to skip it.... she doesn't; she moves on to the third name. Carefully.

Hernandez, not an unusual name... thisHernandez is younger than either of the other folks she's talked to.

And so she seeks this Hernandez.

Hernandez opens the door. Hes not a happy looking man, squalor and youth lead to frustration "Si?"

"Please forgive the intrusion." she says calmly "My name is Jessica King; Father V said I might come by and talk to you?"

"Oh, the padre" His sour look dims a bit but while not as sour, is still not chipper"YEah, what about?"

She explains.

"Oh those guys. Yeah, gave me the CREEPS"

"Will you tell me of them?"

"You ever feel like something is walking on your grave? It was kind of like that. I mean, I get pride in heritage but this guy had like hate"

"Guy. Just one?"

"Not alone but he's the one I locked eyes with." he describes tattoos in detail

THESE she takes notes of as well.

And he finishes u saying "I know it's odd but it was almost like old stories of tribes readying a raid on each other"

"Do you really think so?"

"It was like he was the look out while they were scouting ahead, he was looking back"

She nods. "I understand. Is there anything else you can remember?"

"Yeah, they said something about THREE Chupacabra. That's not a thing is it?"

"Chupacabra? Creatures of legend?"

"Well. Maybe they really thought they saw one? I mean... who knows, right? Imagination......"

"The thing that surprised me was they actually had a cellphone"
