Jessica chuckles. "There are those Fae that go through their Dream Dance as Grumps." she points out.

"Grumps?" He asks

"An informal term for those of say.. 35 or older, though some hold onto their wilder hood long indeed" A smile from Diego, "They prefer the term Greybeard, or Grand dame"

"I will too when I become one" The Eshu laughs

"For now, though, looks like your Seeming is Wilder."

"I like it" Apolonio looks about merrily

a voice yells "CASPIAN DEBUKE, FRIEND OF FENIX!" Phobos on Herald patrol

"Already?" Diego turns "Mmmph. What a man won't do for Nancy when she smiles?"

"Mmph." Jessica shrugs, turning away to see Caspian enter "Welcome, and thank you for coming."

The huge Eshu grins and moves to clasp Jessica's arm in a friendly gesture "I may not be a troll, but I am still a DeBuke. When an ally asks for aid, they tend to insist we respond. Besides, Nancy asked nicely and flattered me." he turns to see the other Eshu "I take it this is our new arrival?"

"He is." Jess steps back to let them introduce themselves.

And they do, warmly, Caspian is very flowery going on about "princes of the road" and "Dreams of adventure made manifest" just for a start. Apolonio grins as if someone were just introduced to a future drinking buddy and somehow knew it

Diego mutters quietly to Jessica "Think Caspian will soon explain how everything ever worth while came about because of Eshu?"

"Really? I thought it was all from the Greeks...." she murmurs back.

"Well, but of course it was" he says with a wink

"Mmph." but she is not unamused.

Diego watches as the Eshu walk off, Caspian spinning a story of Eshu origins. Then Diego says "I should visit that farm of theirs sometime"

"You might enjoy it."

"I think I would, bit cold for my tastes.. Iowa I mean... but clearly it has decent folk and they're as modernist as I am"

She nods. "They are good people, and yes, very modernist."

"Of course, from waht I've seen, they'll make me bring back a truck load of Squash"

"We certainly don't want for it, thanks to our friendship." she agrees "I wonder how the goat went down, there."

"Oh dear... I forgot about the goat"

"I certainly enjoyed the venison. It was a new experience."

"You would like me to get you more?":

"I would defer to Maria and Rosa on ingredients and meals." she stipulates "If it would bolster our relationship with the DeBukes, though, you might visit to get the lay of the land?"

"A WORKING vacation eh?" A nod "I could do that. I would have to ask Nancy to take up my duties for a bit here"

"She's capable."

"She is." A look at her 'But you've lost trust of her recently. The boggans tell me it shows."

"But everything 'shows' to them" he says "Is having her take up the task not to your liking? If so I can find another"

"No, it's fine with me."

A nod "Fair." He says "I'm curious. I'm fond of you both. I hope it resolves over time if resolving it still needs to do"

"We'll see." mildly.

A nod, accepting her brief answer. It may not satisfy, but he's no doubt it's honest.

Ariel charges up almost colliding into their legs! "My cousin is here!"

"Right over there, Ariel." Jessica catches and turns the childling, nearly a spin, towards Caspian.

"Caspiaaaan" redirected she charges the tall Eshu only to get scooped up "Wheee! "

Diego laughs deeply at this display "Nice aim, you lined her right up"

"Well, we practiced some moves on the court." Jessica admits.

"Paid off" He compliments as he watches Ariel get swung around by Caspian

"She's a good kid. They all are."

"Indeed" he nods "I'm tempted to take a ward myself some days"

"You are?" some surprise.

"Getting older myself. Maybe the revolution I'm meant to spread starts with a younger one ready to learn.. though I have to be careful. Teen years might lead to a royalist out of some perverse rebellion"

"I mean, look what happened to me." Jessica agrees.... teasing?

A chuckle "Indeed. Still, you turned out alright ... so far" A nod

She smiles slightly in response.

Caspian is setting Ariel down, explaining he must tend to the new fledge. Ariel understands and gives his legs a hug before racing back to Jessica and Diego "He's gonna tell stories to us kids later, if Salma says it's okay"
