"Because it's interesting, and could be inspiring!! And you should be proud of it" Siv says

Cinder tuts

"I'm not shamed of it, but I'm not ashamed of ... of.... brushing my teeth or putting on my socks, either."

"Clearly, you find putting on foot wear more exciting than I do"

"It's my duty, Siv."

"Aye, but one can take pride in their duty, they can reveal the passion their duty brings... for Unseelie it maybe passion before duty, but there's nothing in the Seelie Code that says Duty can't have passion following it. "

"Hmph."

"I'm going to read that as 'a good point I am reluctant to admit, sister dear'" Siv smiles

Cinder tuts at Siv "now don't provoke your sister. Jessica is humble. That's a virtue"

"Nothing says duty can't have passion following it, and nothing says it must." Jessica folds her arms.

"Part of Duty is to inspire others to do their duty, and that is less likely to happen if one hides their light under a bushel I would think" Siv says "In House Fiona , flare and style aren't for mere vanity, they shine a light on deeds worth emulating so others might try also"

"I'm not courting House Fiona. Or -any- House."

"Doesn't mean that they're not right on this point" Siv says

Cinder watches the two fuss

"Doesn't mean they are."

"But they are, to fight the darkness one should shine" She says

"To fight the darkness, one lights a flame."

"ooo I like that" Cinder says

"Aye, well, fire has light as well as heat" Siv says though she sighs "Darn, that WAS good"

A shrug. "Seems pretty obvious." Nope, not even taking credit for -that-....

"Buuuut" Siv says "You can both inspire AND burn away the evil... s what i'm saying" Yup. Stubborn

"mom...why are they arguin bout stuff don't matter?" a little black yearling peeks out

"Because they love each other, dear," Cinder says "And it does matter, but right now it's not nearly as important as shared time"

"Hello, Smoke." She greets the yearling.

"Lo, Miss Jessica, ma'am"

"You are adorable," Siv says stunned

SOmehow the smoke like chimerical yearling blushes before turning dark again

"Say hello to Captain Siv," Cinder directs

"Lo, Captain Siv," The yearling says "ma'am."

"Siv, this is Smoke. He's out of Cinder by.....?" She gives Cinder an eyebrow.

"An Iowan gentelman" Cinder says loftily

"Oh my goodness," Siv says "Shaping up to be a handsome one.. Dagmar would spoil you so, Smoke"

Jessica sighs.

"She has apples?" Smoke says "I like apples"

Jessica obediently produces the one she brought for Smoke. "Dagmar often does, I am told, yes." She passes the apple over.

Delicate crunch

"So mannerly" His mother says pr oud

"But remember to say thank you" She adds "Or Gracious."

"Grassziousss.." The young horse might not want to talk with mouth full

"De nada." Jess responds.

CRUNCH

Siv says "Do you have room for two horses? Even Chimerical ones?" Siv asks

"Smoke has a destiny." Jessica says seriously.

Cinder puffs up proudly.

"I won't let anyone down" Smoke says puffing up his slender frame too. His mane curling

"Well, if you ever want to visit Earth Runes you'd be welcome I bet, ditto for Rivervale" Siv says "And we'd try to get you back in time for your destiny"

"We're already proud of you, Smoke."

"But I haven't done nothing..." He protests
