BIC: Siv comes through the door to face...a thane he's not seen before.

A spear is pointed at her, "Idenitfy yourself," the troll Thane says "YOu bypassed the alarm"

Siv's hand is near her hilt "I could ask the same of you. I know all my sister's thanes, and you're not one of them."

"I won't ask again," The gray troll says.

"Fine by me" Siv says and her rapier comes out "Let's dance then, mystery thane."

Whether Jessica sees her newest thane (Whose name is Boff) and her sister or not is up for the fates OOC: And a player BIC: TO decide

Spear versus Rapier, Rapier versus spear!

One imagines the sound of combat draws notice and alert.....

A familiar voice "Nice thrust, pretty boy, but like most men you're thinking with it too much"

"I'm trrying not to hurt you," A frustrated comment in return "But if I have to I shall"

Jessica flashes a look of alarm and increases her speed from a purposeful stride to an alert dash to close the distance. "HOLD!" She commands.

And the two stop! Siv was trying for a fancy slap to the fingers, and Boff was going for a smash to her side without the point so they stagger in their stopping but hold

"Countess" He says "This intruder somehow bypassed the alarm."

"Boff, stand down. Siv, didn't you introduce yourself?"

"I didn't have time to before this jackass pointed a spear at me... and I didn't know he was with you. Didn't see him berfore. Thought he was a spy" She says "Lots of intrigues in holds."

"A spy? Boff, son of Boff, a spy?" Boff says offended.

Siv says "if you truly feel offended, Thane, we can.." she stops "Wait, your name is Boff, son of Boff?"

Boff nods, "yes."

Siv shoots her sister a look like 'oh my god, he's serious'

"Who's your superior, Boff? Who do you report to, here?"

"Well, you Countess. But I was hired by Sir Phobos"

He seems confused

Well, confused to be questioned or doubted

"Ah." That seems to make sense. "Well, welcome."

"Boff, this is my sister, Siv. Siv, Boff is a recent hire, it seems. If someone comes through that door, Boff, challenge them but let them answer first, yes?"

"Well, I did try to..." a wince, "Your sister?"

Siv smirks "I am Siv, Sister of Jessica," Then she adds, "Don't you worry, that won't cut me any slack from her."

"Captain Siv Waveborn of the Narwal." Jessica corrects/adds. "Daughter of Brekke Shacklebreaker and Mountain King."

"So, yes, let's remember her face another time?"

"I will, Countess" he says

Siv actually blushes, "TO his credit, Freeholder, he can't know I tend to go unnoticed by some magics."

"Well, now that you've told him....."

"I shouldn't have" She sighs "But I felt sorry for him. I mean, his name is Boff"

Boff blinks confused

"And?"

"Nevermind" Siv says "Nice meeting you, Boff. We'll have to spar for fun sometime. " She looks at her sister "Got some free time?"

"Um. Not sure. But I guess we'll find out. Come on." She leads the way to the Balefire room, which now sports (against any actual request by the lady in question) a more ornate chair than was there before.

"Hey, dropped by to say hi to the family after Easter. Thought I'd do the same for you. Did you get that CD of 'how to learn Norwegian' I sent you?"

"Yes, thanks. Sorry, meant to write. Or text or something. I'm trying to listen to it but it's a little tricky. Mostly, I do it at the apartment."

"I have more time than you do to learn it. Mind you, the Fiona lessons keep me busy... the dueling lessons are fun and I do well thanks to mum teaching me fighting, but some of the courtly things I was not ready for. "

"Guess my point is, don't worry too much about mastering it, but if you learn enough to say a few phrases to mom in in her native tongue she'll love it. Also, it is in our heritage"

A sigh. "Courtly stuff. Don't remind me. Wait, nevermind, you don't have to. I know, I know. I'll... figure it out."

"Oh sis, I forgot, they've got a whole new level of it for you don't they? I'd love to help somehow . I can give lessons in dance, poetry, and how to walk in clothing of all types..but I imagine that's not where your concerns are."

"No, thanks. On top of everything else and Norwegian, I think I'd explode." Without blame, just stating her limits.

A smile "Fair enough. Look, I tease DIego, but he's really good at rhetoric, he could probably teach you more... and if you ever do need a teacher, I know Sir Bachdion might be happy to assist, but yes, pace yourself. Can I snoop around in other baronies under you to make sure they behave? Worked before"

"You realize I'm -not- courting House Fiona?" Dry.

"He has also taught Liams and some Gwydions, Sis," Siv says seriously "And you'd be lucky to have his wisdom. He's a good man." A bit protective there? "There's a reason Baroness Coradel treasures his counsel"

"I'll keep that in mind, Siv, thanks. And no, no need to, um, snoop around. Thanks, though."

"You're welcome" She says
