He looks chagrinned, "I'm sorry, Countess. would..would you like me to explain it's purpose?"

"Well, yes. I'm upset. Perhaps understanding more would help. Please, go ahead."

"Well, uhm... she's going to get sick, but not transmit the sickness... she can't really take IN the diesase from dreamers, but she'll alleviate their symptoms, ease their pain, and give them a better chance of surviving. Symond figured since you were big on mortals, the best creation she could make would be one that helped them but then realized nothing mechanical would really drink it in right. So she came to me.. and I got intrigued, Don't worry about this Chimera.. she's not really..well, she's got the brains of a fruitfly and doesnt' feel pain. She'll hack, cough, get fevers and then... finally die... but she might buy weeks or even a few months of easier time for the less banal humans in yoru lands. "

A deep breath.

"That's..actually clever," Mitra admits, "I still recommend flogging, but it's clever"

"No flogging." Jessica nods. "Although I'm tempted. No, it -is- a good idea. Tito-Woden, my father is Mountain of Rivervale; I understand something of the bond between ruler, land, and the ruled. You could have -asked-."

"Yes, Countess. I should have" he says

"I realize there is irony in what I'm about to say. Next time, ask."

"Yes, Countess. I'll pass it on to Symond, " he says bowing

"Thank you, but I'd like to tell her myself. Meanwhile, what do we do with....." She indicates her bloody doppleganger.

"oh.. she just wanders around getting ill." he says "I was going to let her awnder the streets... get to know the people.."

Mitra blinks "Are you insane? you can't have 'my heart carved out liege barbie' here wandering about where Changelings see her? They'll either panic, or, worse, try to use the magic to gain on the Countess"

Jessica folds her arms. "Will she serve her purpose in a cell?"

"Less likely to help" he says "She walks among mortals, and she'll drink in..well, I really am not sure. It may surp[rise you but I've never made a virius sink in ruler form before."

"Will it lessen the effect if we tell our people what she is doing?"

"I don't suppo.. oh!" His eyes light up, "I could veil her!"

Mitra ponders "That would work actually. Changelings ignore her, and mortals sync up. "

"For long enough?"

"We'd have to renew it now and then" He says "I volunteer my services"

"Oh nOW he volunteers and tells you about it" Mitra says

A sigh. "I know." Then, to Tito, "That would be appreciated."

"I'll take her now then and..start veiling, if we might be excused?" he says

Jessica nods.

"I'm going to talk to Symond. Thank, Dame, again. For everything.

And he walks off with Countess Blue Barbie... or whatever god awful name the pooka will give it.

And Jessica heads for Symond.

The workshop opens "Yeah?" She peeks her head out

Jessica gives her a stern look. "About my chimera."

"Your chimera? you get another horse?"

"I spoke with Tito-Woden." Eyebrow.

"That narc, that squeeler! I'm gonna give him So many furking stitches folks will think he's Frankestiein's monster!"

"He didn't put the blame on you alone. He shared it."

"he didn't have to say anything.. just make sure you didn't see the dumb thing and we'd be in the clear" The Unseelie girl grumbles

"But that's not what happened. And it was a pretty nasty shock."

"So he didn't show it to you? you learned about it some other furking way?" She inquires

"I saw it. That was the shock. He's going to Veil it so it can continue its work.... and Symond, if you'd come to me about this idea, I would have said yes."

"Oh.yeah, that'll work." She nods "Whew. For a moment i thought I was in furking trouble. "

"Only JUST not in trouble." She unfolds her arms long enough to make an 'itty bitty' gesture with her fingers. "It was weird, and creepy, and unwelcome, Symond. You could have -told- me. -ASKED- me."

"right, not in trouble.." A browthen ..she looks "Okay.. you look just a bit angry"

"I was."

"Okay okay I... furk. I just.. you know, you're always going on about dreamers and mortals who aren't dreamers and I looked at this problem and I can't..." Frustration " Ican't FIX this drek. Not just the illness.. I can't fix the stupid and some of them are being so furking stupid I.. I just wanna slap em. So when I got this idea to ..draw some of the worse away I had to try and I was so afraid you'd say no and not let me FIX it that i... " For a moment she looks almost distraught then says "I fucked up not telling hyou , but I hate not being able to just FIX this shit"

"We all do." with quiet intensity. "But we have to work together on it."
