My love life has been interesting. Jonas is SUCH a modernist, and doesn't understand why I want to do this, but at the same time he's very supportive when I need him so I'm very conflicted. Why can't we just be thrilled with a guy or angry at him? Why do they have to have layers and complicate things, particularly how we feel about them? I suppose it would get dull if it were all so pat but gah. This is one time where my old flirting habits and training are a big boon and encouraged, but I feel terrible thinking how it might hurt him. Even flirting. Men are.. I like em, but sometimes I think we should be allowed to stab them.

How is mr. Tall Dark and Doodled on btw? Has Duff gotten you to let him tattoo you yet, or are you still sticking to Henna until you've decided to commit- JOKE. I write joke because otherwise you won't see it that way and will throw the scroll down in disgust and won't read the rest for a week

I am way behind on Rivervale news, as mom and da don't write back in great detail. I hope they're doing okay. Maybe you can check on them? you know how they are. The sky could be falling and they'd grunt and shake their heads then grab weapons or shields. Mackerel, my cat, is adjusting, though she resents other cats might be more loved than her. And she thinks the bookwyrm should be quite tastey which I have had to discourage. Bronte is amazing. I think Flex and Specs in your own library might like her even if they're more book pixies.

I have made some friends, though Zara, the one I'd consider a real friend, isn't here always and there's some kind of ..well, she'd resent if I talked. But she's not always here and sometimes I don't know if I have many friends at all. Which is different for me. Not that anyone's cold, far from it, it's that they're so friendly to everyone I don't know how much of it is friendship and how much is 'that's just how they are to all'. I hope to make some more true friends in time, maybe the baroness, but she's my mentor and currently boss so there's got to be a distance it feels. And I don't know how to get around that.

Which means at times, I'm in a hold full of interesting, kind, beautiful people and I feel so incredibly lonely. But you must not tell mother or father that. They would blame themselves and I'll not have that. I need to be here. Duty comes in all forms and I can be okay. It's just strange being a quiet one where so many say so much but I never know if it means anything. Normally that's what folks wonder about ME. Yes, you may snicker at Karma's gentle slap to the back of my head.
