"I appreciate you coming." She leads him into the freehold. "Welcome to Renaissance, and Fenix."

"Wow, good energy here" He says "I can't use it, but good energy" He admits

"You can't?" She takes him to the Balefire room and a spot where they can sit and talk. "Can I offer you food and drink?"

"I recall the local Nunnehi gather and use Glamour differently. I take it the same is true of you?"

"For us, we call it medicine... and we tend to gather from nature. I'll head out to the beach or whever now and then... and food or drink would be welcome"

Jessica nods and refreshments are brought. "Thank you...." to the staff that does so. "John, I would like to know more about you, and what you think would work in this situation, or how you would start."

"I'm a Taurus, I like long walks by the creek and I think someone can be a cat and dog person without feeling conflicted," He says as he takes the food "Okay, I think honestly you're the one to talk about how to go... you know the local layout better than I. So fill me in, and let me know your goals. I was told peace..and that's why I'm giving this a chance. I don't want to be used to drop their guard and trick them later or anything like that. "

Jessica shakes her head. "That is not my intent. The conflict here in Feathered Serpent has been ongoing for years. I want to try peace for a change. I understand there will be negotiation and compromise and some cost.... but I think it will be worth it. I have met a few of the local Nunnehi but we have not been able to really connect and discuss the ideas."

"In order to have peace, I think the local Nunnehi will need their spaces protected and respected. Resources will have to be shared. They will need a voice here. I am willing to do all that, and to listen to what more, or else, they need."

"Well, do you have a library here or some place I can research? It doesn't look like it" He pats a pack on his hip , "But this little thing holds a lot of books and I brought them here to study up on Mexioamerican tribes and their culture, ancient and modern offshoot. From what I've learned so far, sacrifice is an important concept to them. I don't mean 'hearts on an altar' though that was in play yes, but the idea of how nothing gets by with nothing given."

She nods. "We do have a library, and librarian. I would value if you would share your information with us."

"Consider it a given" he says

"Thank you." She takes a drink. "Please consider yourself my guest here in Fenix. I will let my people know you are staying. There is another Freehold nearby that I have encountered local Nunnehi in; we can visit there. It is.... um. A place of dark energy. Unseelie."

"Guest? Countess, I'm your adviser on matters of Native Dreams... I don't need a title, but do not let me sit on my ass okay?" Then a mention "Oh? Go on."

"It's a place of aggression, as this is a place of healing."

"Red path to your white path" he says almost to himself "Yeah I can work with this."

"Well, they're both kind of mine, under our system. But it's in good hands."

he raises a brow at something, then says "Whose hands?"

"Dame Mitra, one of my longest serving advisors. And a friend."

"Dame? What house? If I might ask...assuming your standard Sidhe model."

"Eiluned."

"And you...trust her?" Dubious

"With my life."

A nod, "Fair. Good to know you've got eyes on both angles. It's too soon to say, but I think if they come to Fenix it..means more. Red Path can be honorable, but not peaceful. White path... tied to this place? They're more cautious about the symbolism"

She nods. "Let's try for that. I'll need guidance on how to host them, feed them, so on. I have very little information about their culture."

"I'll talk to your librarian and the Dame as well then first..well, besides yourself, obviously."

"That makes sense." She thinks. "As much as I want the Nunnehi to meet with us and am willing to offer an olive branch, I think we should include the head of security here, the other freeholder, and Diego."

"Look forward to meeting them too," John says "Ah, you going to eat with me? Or just watch me?"

"Oh....." She takes an empanada.

"Look. You're the boss. I just happen to be a guy who can quit when I want. But you'er also the woman who has been at this for over a year so input vital"

She nods. "So far.... well, that's about as far as we've gotten. I have ideas, but I can't get them to hold still long enough to discuss."

"Interesting, that could either be a power play, or a way to save face"

She nods. "And because there's so little available on their culture it's hard to say which. Could be both."

Longfeather nods, "Okay."

"I think we've got a good shot here"

"You do?"

"Well, by good, I mean compared to others in Mainland mexico"

She nods her understanding. "Right."

"But even if we're only at the 50 yard line, it's a hell of a lot better than our own twenty. I don't want to punt when I can see a goal post."

A faint frown. "Football?"

"Sorry yeah. Not a fan?"

"No, not really. Futball is pretty big here. I'm not that much of a sports fan, though."

"Soccer,, football ... american football. I need to remember. ANd no worries. I'm not a big fan of True Crime. Everyone has their thing"

Jessica finishes her snack.

"Shall I show you the library, give you the fifty cent tour?"

"Please" he says

She nods and rises. Her maul can stay with the Balefire. She shows him the Springs ("Pants!") and a few other spots before they are at the library.

John bends down and touches the water, then mutters to hismelf, before they move on.
