The first knight to show is a grand dame, aka a grump. She appears to be in her late forties, and she enters wearing the symbol of House Beaumayn. A sidhe, she has that beauty that defies time, but her hair is gray and has a hue of ash with much luster in it yet.

((Can we agree that Jess met with her home team and has candidates suggested by them as well?))

Jessica greets the lady and makes her welcome.

((*bip!*))

The woman bows, "I've been told you have taken unusual titles. Is Countess alright? And..." She looks about, "i'm a bit surprised you knew I'd be here today. I'm normally the one who sees things coming"

"We were told there would be interested parties coming to Fenix. It wasn't a difficult leap. I'm Jessica." She offers a hand.

She accepts it, "Ash. Technically Lady Knight Aylison LeFlamm, but now a days it's Ash."

"Why Ash? If I may ask.... sorry, that might be a bit personal."

"I grumped fast." She laughs "Went gray quickly even as a wilder. Years ago my squire joked that I'd gone from Flamm to Ash... after I laughed, I had him clean the armory for cheek, then decided to roll with it. It caught on with the other Beaumayn"

Jessica nods. "Shall we sit and chat, or I can give you a tour, or would you rather rest a bit?"

Amusement in her eyes at something, "Maybe A or B... After talk of my age, if I take a nap you might decide I really am old and decline my service. "

"I don't see age as a deterrent. " seriously "I just don't know how far or long you have traveled."

"Quite a bit, from Willows, but I'm fine. I know how to pace myself. Please, you must have more questions about my capabilities or so on? I see this as something of an interview. The Duke may suggest, but no one should force a knight on you if you don't think them qualified"

Jessica nods and indicates they should sit. "Tell me about yourself, then."

She sits down, "Well, I've been in the Principality of Jazz... New Orleans in Willows for large periods of time, but I've also traveled a great deal. Including to Pacifica where I met one Count Jude. He offered me a position, but as flattering as it was I felt like being a free agent a bit longer. I tangled with the Court of Shadows .. or they tangled with me"

Jessica nods. "Beaumayn is vigilant defending against the Shadow Court. To the benefit of all."

"Well ,now something calling themselves the Shadow Court claims to stand for the commoner rights blah blah blah... I don't know if they're an unintnetional decoy or a puppet or what, but I can assure you the old Shadow Court is still there, somewhere, and and up to black souled business." Ash snorts, then "Well, thank you for putting a bit of praise for my House. We're not always thought of well. You know many Beaumayn?"

"Sir Vali the Stealth has long been a friend."

Ash coughs "I'm sorry... Sir Vali? You know Vali?"

"I do."

She chuckles, "Well, small world"

"You know him, then?"

"I should... I helped train him. He's the one who called me Ash"

"Oh. That sounds like him."

"Yes, actually squire might not be the right term... he squired for me... but he was ..pretty fast tracked. Gaining the vision was hard on him, but the rest? Natural"

"I understand he had excellent mentorship when he was younger. "

"Now that's flattering, but his childling adventures helped him in a lot of areas, and between Eiluned snooping and a Gwydion legend role model... well. Let's just say it's a good thing he didn't get an attitude about it or he'd be unbearable."

"Some would say he is." Wry.

"You do know him" she says "does he still get that pleased look when he slaps down some word play? As if in his head the audience is cheering?"

A sigh. "Yes."

"Whatever you do, don't laugh, it only encourages him.I learned that the hard way" She shakes her head,then smiles, "I don't know if this works for me or against me. I can tell you I'm not as good at winter magics...but I have other arts. "

Jessica nods. "Will you tell me of your Arts."

"Oh, certainly, I do know a little winter magic, but am better at Summer and Pyretics. I've never really bothered with Sovereign. Works on the wrong people"

"Why Renaissance?"

"Because I understand you're friendly to Liams, and Liam and Beaumayn tend to be allies... or at least welcome. I have other reasons, but I'm afraid I can't share those"

"I understand. And yes.... Liam are welcome here. My father is Liam."

"Of course, Sir Franklyn. Now that i know yhou know Sir Vali I can connect the dots. I've always wanted to meet Longhaul"

A small smile. "They visit, occasionally. "

"Well, it will be a pleasure to make his acquaintance." She ponders "let's see, as you may already know I am not at liberty to tell you exactitudes about my visions, and sometimes not at all"

"I understand, yes."

"Good. Because mark me, everyone is tempted to shake a Beaumayn like some magic 8 ball"

"Most people want to shake Vali for a different reason." She observes.

"Well that you can't blame on the House" a hurumph but her eyes betray her, "is he well by the way?"

"When last I heard. He has been through a Togail."

"Oh my , wonder who made him go gray," A smile "Or older and wiser anyway. Thank for letting me know. It's nice to hear he's doing fine."

"Let's see.. my sword work is.. mid teir? I can hold my own, but I likely won't win pennons. I can sneak about pretty well for one of the shining host... and won't get lost in the wilds"

"What is your point of view on Nunnehi?"

"I don't really have one. " She admits, "ive seen maybe two in my life. "
