No hiding the genuine gratitude, there.

Piper whispers to Siv only, "I wonder if that would work on her Squire..." Not derogatory, but... honest! It's a good idea!

"Well earned." The Selkie says, then turns "Lady Captain Siv, thou art granted .. "She motions something else away "A new cannon for your ship. "

"THank ye, Baroness" Siv says stunned. And makes a not to keep a certain Nocker from it

ANd finally they turn to Piper "For you, much has been mentioned by someone who knows you well that you often feel the chill during New Jerse winters... I cannot promise immunity but..." She motions and a fiddle is brought up "If you do not know how to play, you may wish to learn. You see, it can put out the heat of a bonfire without burning you. Keep a small room quite cozy while you play"

She BEAMS. "A lovely and thoughtful gift from a lovely and thoughtful Baroness. I shall remember the warmth shown to me at Ocean Breeze every time I play it."

Trying not to think too hard on how she got THAT little bit of personal info.

AND, not taking offense at the "learn to play" comment.

HMMPH

Siv looks innocently at the ceiling

"Now, a celebration begins, drinks, food, good company... "She claps at the crowd, music starts and the crowd cheers and applauds before breaking into dances, snacking, and talking

Now the attention off them, the Baroness says "I hope you don't mind shot and sweet?"

Dagmar lets out a sigh of relief.

EXHALE.

"Short is definitely better than long." She smooths her skirt again.

Siv says "Well, if it cheated you of your fun, we could start up a part two" Is she joking? SHe's teasing Piper and Dagmar

"Dagmar, would you like to dance?" Piper offers a hand up to the tall Troll, playfully snubbing Siv as she teases.

"I'll try not to..." A pause. "You have hooves! Odds of me stomping toes is way down."

The Baroness looks amused "I think, Lady Captain , too much might be cruel"

"It might" Siv grins, then says to Dagmar "She's really a great dancer, Dagmar. "

"So was Nadeen. I just need to stay out of the way and follow."

"Well, second dance for me, please" Siv says a bit contrite

She grins, and winks to Siv. To Dagmar, she leads her to the dance floor, and manages to lead Dagmar in the lead role - training with Lyron has made Piper a pretty good dancer, and learning to teach music helps her to guide.

"And one-two-three, then I spin here, and one-two-three..."

The Baroness moves to Squire Valter to talk quietly amid the noise of celebration

Dagmar has danced in that role a few times before - and a slower dance like this she can handle.

"Hey, you're not bad!"

Plus, she knows how to spin a partner!

"Nadeen showed me some things." A shy grin.

"Whee!" Piper can't help a soft squeal as she gets spun.

"What are you going to do about Squire Valter?"

Taking advantage of the dance to talk discretely.

"Well... it would hurt him to reject him out of hand. But.. I dunno, maybe he could be our... um.. liaison at SIlver Wolf, if there's worries about him fitting in at home?"

"I guess, if he knows how those dragons do business. Would they be offended by being sent some new strange squire?" Concerned, even as they turn about the dance floor. "I've heard dragons can be so touchy."

VERY quite at that.

It might even look like she is murmuring sweet nothings to Dagmar!

"Well, that's the tricky part. But he knows Ailil holds already? If... well, Chief will have better ideas."

In the corner, Celia that Selkie tries to pull thane Stanly to the floor during his break

"Oh, dance with her, you lunk!" She mutters softly.

"It's not a bad idea!" Giving Dagmar's hands a squeeze when the song ends, "I want to get a drink before the next song, Siv will keep me dancing all night for snubbing her earlier."

"Huh?" Curious, she looks where Dagmar is glancing.

"Did you want to dance with that pretty little Selkie?"

"Exactly as you planned, right?" A smile.

A grin up to Dagmar!

"Stanly needs to dance with her. She likes him!"

"And I don't think he realizes it."

"Oooooh. Well, maybe you have some boggan blood..." A little tease as she checks what drinks are available.

"I... no? But it's really obvious to me, so if it's obvious to me it must be pretty blatant, but Stanly's a troll too and, well, we're not known for... you know?"

A handsome Fionaoffers his arm to Siv, who graciously takes it and they dance

She considers, then goes and whispers to the band. "Next song, do you know, 'The Mariner's Delight'?" Naming a courtly dance meant for couples in sets of 4.

The dance she names is a popular fae one, she's played it herself a few times. A partner dance with two couples, where they will come together, spin, switch partners, and return in a sequence... but always ending back up with the original.
