Piper now bows her head again, yes, very modest… only the two with her can she that she shakes with unreleased laughter.

"Maybe it'll be fine? Asking for boons is hard." She whispers.

“Nah, I can ask for a new set of guitar strings or a contract to play at their next banquet or a new cannon for the Narwhal… “ Piper rattles off easily!

Whether the Baroness hears that or not, it occurs to the others that perhaps Piper SHOULD have spoke up because the baroness motiosn not to a thing, but a person! The troll standing shows green more than blue, showing his unseeliie leanings. He's a fierce looking warrior "The services of Squire Valter" He is a grump "Who will serve as the Chieftain of Rivervale directs. Squire Valter has grown curious of great forests and longs for cooler climes, so it serves him as well. "

Squire Valter rises and bows to Piper, Dagmar and Siv

Siv smiles charmingly then says through her teeth ("Mom is going to shit a cow")

"That... is incredibly generous, Baroness. But service at Rivervale is not ours to grant."

"Of course not, it is mine to offer, and your Chieftain will decide where he goes in her barony and to what purpose. Fear not. She will find him talented"

"Oh, yes, I'm afraid that all of our Knights already have squires, you see... he would be quite, uh, adrift. Now, if you happen to have something of Material gift instead, perhaps, I'm a material girl myself, and would love to make suggestions, er... beggig your Ladyships, uh, pleasure."

And it occurs to her, she continues! "As well, Lady Cap'n Siv is not technically in the Service of Rivervale, nor am I, so it really would not be of much benefit to two thirds of our little party, Baroness."

Bowing LOW, contritely explaning, NOT phrased as a correction.

She considers, and answers, "I believe that I'm just about as common as dirt, and as far as I know, a squire wouldn't know what to do if they didn't have a Knight Master to help guide them?" Now, a bit comical herself, allowing herself to look a bit the bumpkin.

Dagmar is holding onto fistfuls of her skirt, lest she chew on her knuckles in front of the entire court.

Chuckles break out here and there, laughter even here and there as the bite of refusal is taken out of the rejection

For most. squire Valter stiffens a moment

Dagmar frowns, look at the older troll.

Piper bites her lip a little as she catches a glimpse of the ogrish troll, wondering if she misspoke.

Dagmar can see he is not pleased. Siv mutters "He's actually concerned"/ Piper can tell hope just vanished

"I am of Rivervale, and bound in fealty to Baroness Shacklebreaker. I will present Squire Valter for her to... determine the best path forward."

At that, Squire Valter stands up again straighter

Piper speaks up brightly, "I'm glad there is a wise knight here to speak of what I know not. She can handle the head for me, and Lady Captain Siv, handles, well..." She gives a little shake of her tail.

"But perhaps, if you DID wish to offer something to use who are not strictly of Rivervale, why, the Narwhal might go well with a cannon. Then again, I suppose Dougal would be the ones to ask for that?" A finger on her chin, thoughtful.

Siv blinks

"So that next time, she doesn't need to ram the entire SHIP into the Dragon!"

Siv blushes . That gets some chuckles

"You are right, about your Chief having the right to puruse him" the Baroness nods, "It is not met to force even the finest sword into another's hand untested. Please, present him when there is time" She says "And, of course, there are.. well, trinkets to reward you with as well" She offers and a small chest is brought forward "To Dame Dagmar, we are told you love dogs?"

Blush. Nod.

She brings forth a collar "Upon recomendation of one of my thanes? Put this on any animal, it will size to fit, and act as Chainmail in protection but hinder the creature not" A little leathre collar with a shield symbol

Thane Stanly smles JUST a bit, before going back at attention while on crowd control

She smiles brightly. "Thank you!"
