"Come on, let's go see..." And she leads the way down the stairs, past the first floor and down to the lower level. At least, she tries...but the light switch leading down doesn't seem to be working. "Anybody got a light source? Mundane, cantrip, something?"

"Lamp option onn my cellphone" Click, blue white light

"Good, I'm low on battery."

And down the stairs they go.

It's cooler down here, but not unpleasantly so, and there's not too much of that mildew-y smell. It's a bit musty from misuse, but not offensive.

As Sally Mae casts the light from her phone around, it reveals...not a cramped underground store room, but rooms with tall ceilings and...arches? And...platforms? "Whoa..."

Piper muffled a sneeze.

"this is .. not what I expected"

"No way. It's like..." She shakes her head, and reaches out to tap at one of the archways. It makes a hollow sound, and she smiles. "It's not stonework. It's stagecraft. This is a performance space or something."

"Or maybe...maybe it was some kind of club?"

Piper looks up and around, baffled.

Sally Mae's flashlight reveals a panel of wallpaper with decidedly psychedelic influence.

Sylvi looks around a bit more, as much as the light will allow, and then she closes her eyes and concentrates.

A laugh at that. “Groovy, baby.” She clips forward, running a hand along the wall curiously.

A flowinng of memories... dreams of...

It looks for a moment like chimerical fantasms try to rise that look like the B52s band... if you're familar with that..

then they shift... parties hidden from judging eyes... voices harmonnizing.. experimennting...

"Ohhhh...oh, wow...Piper, do you feel that?"

"I don't care what sells...I want to try this, I need to..."

Piper feels it too

“Seriously.” She whispers, not that she has to, but something feels solemn here..

Sylvi inhales breathing it in....and then opens her eyes with a smile. "Okay...done. This is it. No question. This is Goldfinch Freehold."

There's a vibe down here, one of searching for yourself, maybe a hint of defiance, but also ..is tolerance a dream?

“You’re keeping the name too?!” A big grin

"If Deville and Angel were friends of Goldfinch, you bet I am," she grins.

Sally Mae looks about "why would they make a place under it where folksweren' meant to go?"

“ maybe it was closed up in the later renovations?”

“Like, if they couldn't afford to fix up the entire building, they might have cut corners by blocking off the places they couldn’t see too.”

"Yeah. Maybe they figured they'd deal with it later...and then later never happened."

"I mean...folks were here. That's easy to feel. But maybe it was. like, a club? An exclusive club? Which, y'know, is perfect."

"I bet we'll be able to figure out more when we can see it clearly."

"Maybe" Sally Mae walks around "Like a modern day speak easy , only instead of prohbite booze they tried music that didn't sell and gay pride stuff?" Dubious but ..considering

“Or the money was never there.” Nodding agreement. “I read an article about how a building under renovation went bankrupt because they discovered historical facade. Legally then they were required to restore it for historical reasons, but they couldn't afford to and lost the entire project. Then it never got restored at all. Bureaucracy!”

"Ohhhh, that makes sense," to Sally Mae.

“Ooh.” Piper nods at sally may.

"Well, if the business was going under, then yeah, the money thing makes sense."

She flashes the light around , "Okay, there's a small stage down here"

"Oh, shine it back over there. See? Some tables and chairs stacked up against the wall back there."

She does "Oh.."

“Come with me, and we'll be, in a world of pure imagination….” Piper sings softly…

And the area catches her voice. If she tries it on stage, it carries it

"Try it on the stage..."
