Sylvi blinks. "That's...Wow!" She looks around again. "Piper...I think you're absolutely right. You could do a lot to encourage performers here!"

“Heeere- if you put up a green screen, and has a web cam…” a grin. “I won’t even make an OnlyFans joke.”

Sylvi gives her a smirk. "That's not my thing. But...yeah...it's actually perfect."

"Okay...okay. So, yeah, it's perfect for the Dreamer stuff...but let's look for freehold space."

"The wiring has been torn in parts but that would be just a reason to update" Sally Mae nods

She aims for some of the doors toward the back of the building to see what's there.

“There are management offices this way, and over there I didn’t look. I was too distracted by the performing areas.”

Sylvi pokes her head into some management offices. "These are...useful? But they're too close to where the mortals would be...." A thoughtful tone. Another door...and there's a stairwell. A flight up...and a flight down.

"Hey, I found the stairs! C'mon..." And she decides to look upstairs first.

Sally Mae however hangs up at the management office "You two go ahead"

Sylvi's already up the stairs! "Oh...eww! Ugh, it's musty up here."

"I think there's been a leak in the roof or something...." To the building's credit, though, Sally Mae can't hear their footsteps as they walk around up there.

“Be careful! The floors might not be solid..”

When Piper joins her up there, she sees what Sylvi has discovered -- the remains of several rooms that seem to have been gutted, and a fair amount of very unpleasant green shag carpet.

“That’s… very over-ripe avocado.”

Wrinkling her nose a bit at the color.

"Yeah, that is going out the door, first thing." It does not appeal to Sylvi's aesthetic, apparently.

Sally Mae comes up "Ugh..."

"I don't know if this is really freehold-material...." she sounds dubious, and a bit concerned.

"I mean...maybe, but...."

"Forgive me but... any of you know 1940 singers?"

"Huh? Um...maybe...like, that was stuff like Boogie-Woogie Bugle Boy, right? That was some group with sisters...."

"Why, Sally Mae?"

"These two aren't sistters.." She shows the picture

“Where should I START? Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald… Billy holiday, Louis Armstrong…” she goes on

Then pauses to look.

Sylvi also takes a look.

Lucille Deville and Angel McQueen. Deville and Angel! Piper would know them as a Duo that were big hits in the boogie woogie thing, the heart break of soldiers everwhere... big record deal in the early 50s...

She sputters.

and then, scandal. They were pulled out of the closet

"Well, apparently they recorded here" she says "Look at the back of the picture"

“In the second red scare they even had posters saying that lesbians were communists after your daughters, Mom had one up iconically in her office…”

“They did caricatures of these ladies on them…” she trails off and squeaks at the inscription.

"They...they recorded here...." Sylvi's eyes are wide. "Piper...this is huge."

"Sally Mae, where did you find this?"

“This MUST be fate. I mean, no one hardly had heard of them before the last few years… and to think they would have just bulldozed this!” Appalled.

"in that office, in a manilla envelope. I thought it would be old book keeping records"

“I wonder what else we'll find…what are you thinking, Sylvi? Does it have promise?”

"I mean, the studio itself definitely is amazing. I'm not loving this floor, though...." She looks dubious. "Maybe...can we check out the basement?"

"Or whatever's in the downstairs."

“Of course…” Piper is starting to look a bit worried, but bites her lip. If they don't move forward with the freehold here, what does that mean for Goldfinch?

Sally mae looks over it "I think someone tried to make this residential this part i mean"

"Well, that might explain the carpet." She makes an ugh face at it. "I mean...it could work for something. I just don't know about 'freehold'..."

"Though I suppose it's important to have places where people can stay if they really need to."
