The blue haired lapidary is glittering with a few strategic gemstones, one on each lapel of her trench coat collar, and the tiny ones on her earings.

She's also proudly displaying the silver medal she won for second in crafting on Pennons

"This a bad time? I can make like a banana and split"

"No, please. I'm just studying. Miss Zara and I often spend time this way. Reading."

"Do you require resources?" Zara rises from her chair.

"Yeah, if it's no trouble... I need a book on gemstones and their relations to stars. About a year ago I screwed up something and I thought I'd pass something on to make sure all is good. Legends on which stones are tied mostly to astrological energies?"

August listens, interested.

"I mean, I SHOULD KNOW this right? But there's a lot of obscure mythology so I KNOW I'm missing something"

"I.... yes, I have a few texts. Excuse me a moment."

Zara goes to find the text.

"Thanks" The nocker paces while she waits, muttering "I mean, there's a moonstone, OBVIOUSLY, and Star Sapphires, but those are names which are important, but the root mythology, that's a factor. In the Dreaming"

"It certainly sounds like it." August observes.

"Definitely, you know, before lamps there were stories of genies caught in gems? Take Solomon's ring"

"What sort of gem did it have?"

"In some depictions ruby but I'm not sure of the authenticity of it"

"Are you replacing a gem, then?"

"Working on gem choice for a jewelry set"

"Ah."

"Yeah.." She paces

August taps the cover of his book absently.

"I always feel guilty bothering the librarian..." Kylie admits

"I'm sure it's no bother."

"Well yeah but you'd think I could read a card catalog"

"Well." a small smile "It might be that she knows where some works are that aren't in the public catalog."

"Oh I'm pretty sure she furking knows where they keep books that wikiepdia never dreamt of"

"She does."Not without pride in his friend.

"Yeah, I'm not so smug a crafter I don't respect chronicled research" A look "You know her long?"

"Oh yes. Years. It's hard to remember a time when I -did- know her."

He chuckles again. "It feels that way, now."

Zara returns, with an armful of books.

"Yeah I saw a bit but I..." She turns "Oh hey, thanks, Zara..geez o pete I thought it was an obscure subject!"

August quietly takes his seat again.

"We have an extensive collection."

"I... it's like you vanished into a whole nother library or something" She looks around "But it's only so big" A glance back to the books "Wow. How many can I check out?"
