"Guy's name is Slygg. he's threatening her dreamer online" Lord Hume says "How legit a threat it is, we're not sure but Nan is scared for her friend"

((I think they're in a side-room away from August's study but it's all good.)

"He says he'll.. i mean, he doesn't use the word ravage but he talks about how people go dry 'all the time' " Nan swallows

"How explicit is the threat?" she asks.

((Reverse those.))

((And noted, re: room.))

"Hmm." Coradel nods, but looks to August. This is, after all, his meeting.

"Do you know anything else about this Slygg?"

"Not much.. he pretends to be maga just to piss most of us off.. claims he's in my neighborhood.."

"And.. he definitely knnows about my dreamer. He knows her name and where she lives" A panicked look there

"And where is your neighborhood?" gently.

Coradel listens, thoughtfully regarding the ice cubes in her glass.

A swallow and she says "I live on Conway street?" A worried look to Hume

She looks up in time to catch Nan's glance at Hume. "Something wrong with Conway Street?"

"No I just... I didn't want to give up this much information.." She says "I didn't want to come here ...

Lord Hume says "People talk about things online because they feels safer doing it there than face to face, sometimes, Baroness. I coaxed her out to get help, but she's feeling exposed" With. surprisingg empathy

"Miss Nan, will you allow us to help you, and your Dreamer?" still gentle "I understand you have some misgivings. I promise we intend no harm."

"Oh. Hm." The notion of feeling exposed may be a bit remote from Coradel's experience. "Well, as Baron August says, we certainly want to protect those in the barony. However...it's hard to say if the redcap is being sincere."

"I know, I don't know what to do" Nan says

"Hume, this sounds like your area of expertise. Threats made in the cyber realms, and such."

"Lord Hume has made a point." thoughtfully "People talk online because they feel safer there than face to face. Perhaps this Slygg is the same way? Perhaps I should, ah, bump into him."

Coradel lets a surprised look at August slip out for a moment before schooling her features to something more neutral. A sip of her drink.

Lord Hume says "I can get his address. Though, redcaps are pretty scary"

"You would do that to help my friend?" Nan says, almost surprised

"This surprises you?" Coradel asks Nan.

August might not have caught that look from Coradel. "Of course." mildly even as Coradel speaks; he smiles.

Another glance to August, this one with an answering smile.

"I.. guess so.. it's just takingg a risk for someone you don't know.. not everyone would" Nan says .. she has been respectful, now she seems a bit awed.

"My House is well-known to favor Dreamers, to see them safe and protected; productive. And I am invested in the well-being of this Barony. That I have not met each individual within it speaks more to my shame than any lack of theirs."

"Oh no, it's not your fault not everyone visits courts" She says surprised "Some of us hide from nobles.. " A blush you can see past her mask "Begging the baroness pardon, but you have a lot of power over us"

"I think there's no shame in it, August," Coradel chides mildly. "But strangers, especially dreamers, have no less right to protection than those we know well."

A nod of acknowledgment to Nan. "It's true. I tend to think that makes it even more helpful to be well-known and beg our favor comfortably...but that's just me, I suppose."

Nan blushes again but says no more there

Lord Hume says "Nan, I'm sorry if today has made you nervous, and I know I pushed, but.. uhm.. there's only so much I can do online to help. So.. I'm glad you did"

There's a graceful ease to Coradel, but it's like a lioness relaxing in the sun; no question that she can be ferocious in the proper mood.

"Well, and then we come to it. You're sure you can get his actual address, Hume?"

"Absolutely, guy doesn't even use a VPN" a note of disdain in Hume's voice there

Nan relaxes a bit "He'll be mad I 'swatted him'"

"But it's worth it if it sends him a warning"

August nods. "I'll take Tylar, and... Dame Temerity?"

"Long I don't have to go" he says

"Not this time, Lord Hume." August says with a small smile.

Nan says "Uhum. thank you. Is. is there anything else you need from me?"

"I agree, Dame Temerity would suit well." She is quietly rising to stand, though, and puts a finger to her lips as she moves softly to the door.

A look to August, her hand close to the doorknob.

He has also transferred his attention to the door, a beat before Coradel rises, and nods to her, awareness in his eyes.

And quickly she opens the door!

August stands.

Nelson falls on his ear..which makes sense as you realize it was probably against the door.

the squire thumps, and a surprised look goes on his face.
