Elsewhere, Miriam soon runs out of chores and shoos everyone else away. "Don't you know how to act at a party?"

"Well, I like seeing you."

"Feh."

"You know us trolls, Miriam, happy just being nearby on guard" A smile though

"Yeah, yeah. I'm gonna find where they keep the booze." and she stumps off.

"Look ye for the Dapper Lion" Someone calls out to Miriam

"Odds of Vince hitting on my mom?"

"No bet" He says

Adam nudges Zane. "Guess we might as well sit down." he finds an out of the way table and takes a seat. While his mood is somber, it isn't as though he's trying to ruin anyone's good time.

"I don't know" Zane says "I think my butt's asleep" A grin "Yeah sure"

Zara steals Earl away to the garden, preferring to dance where it is quieter. Emma, however, is in the thick of it with Oswald.

"Hey, man..... meant to ask. How'd you end up forgetting? You scared the shit out of me."

"Oh.. I was helping someone escape trouble.... so I .. well, I cast some cantrips a bit too freely and I blanked outt."

He looks embarrassed

"Who?"

"Dreamers" he says "I'm acttually really good with mortals" he says "Better than Zara..uhm ONLY in that" A cough

"What kinda trouble?"

"Attempted kidnapping for some ritual I suppose" He says "Adam, some of the shit that went down at Rivervale has been ugly. It's why I wasn't checking on you sooner. And I'm sorry. If I'd known."

"Nah, I get it, it's cool. You told me shit was going down. You had no way of knowing."

"Yeah but still" he sighs

"Yeah." quietly "Still."
