"The seer is already at work, Vince," Coradel reminds him.

“I shall remind him to work more swiftly, then, for he cannot but know the urgency for this delicate river flower.” A declaration.

Bemused. "I'm certain he'll appreciate your reminder," she says with some amount of irony.

Delores says "Baorness.. I'm sorry to trouble you, but you're needed at the stables"

Coradel excuses herself as she gets called away. "We shall speak later," she assures Veronica. Then a kiss on the cheek for August, and another for Vince.

August sits up, more alert, and receives the kiss. "Is there trouble, Steward?"

"No, not yet" and the steward says "or I'd have said before this" And she goes off with the baroness

"Veronica, if you don't object I'd like to offer my own small abilities to learn more about you and yours, if I may?"

"I'm grateful for the help, lord" She says

“And I shall warn all the cads and rascals to mind their manners... and their limbs.” Vince grins, and is off.

"He's soemwhat irrepressible, isn't he?" She says to August

"Ah. Yes. Part of his charm, I think."

"Yes, and.. I want to apologize" she says

"For what, Veronica?" gently.

"I keep staring. YOu sidhe are...I'm sorry. I'm TRYING to get used to it"

A shy smile. "No offense taken, Veronica."

"What do you remember of your mortal life? If there's anything you care to share."

"Oh plenty. I know my high school and other things. Apparently I'm a chaqngeling, not an arcadian? Whatever that means.. but the Seer isn't sure how. "

"A changeling ... merges their soul with that of their mortal host. An Arcadian may retain some vestigial memories of their host but the mortal soul is ...." a breath "Evicted."

"Yes, the seer says that the real miracle is that my body merged despite not having been.. bred for it? He said something about the yulestar"

The Baron nods. "It has been a powerful event. You may be proof of it."

"I suppose. The world has so many colors. I didn't realize."

"This world, and the people in it, -can- be beautiful, yes."

"And yet there are so many injustices that abound too. I feel an increased need to do something about it"

"Patience." he counsels "There is much yet to learn; the world has changed. And please remember the Escheat. Coradel has the Right of Demesne. A ruler, judge, and jury. Her word is law."

"Yes." A sad look "I was told of the laws and they are good ones, but sometimes, those who rule don't make the best judges. I don't mean her I mean..." She makes a vague 'out there' gesture

"Sometimes." he agrees.

"I am studying mortal and Fae law. I'd like to help the cause of Justice in some way."

"truly?" her eyes light up with interest

He nods. "Justice. But not Revenge." gently.

"In older times tthey crossed a bit more often, but I suppose Revenge is the domain of ..." She draws a blank "Well, I'm sure ther'es a kith or house for it"

"Something like that." He agrees. "There are different schools of thought on the subject."

"I know it probably doesn't speak well of me, but I think currently lean towards the 'Son of a bitch must pay' school of thought"

August smiles kindly. "I think, perhaps, that is your nature rather than any personal animus."

"Possibly both of my natures" Veronica gives a soft laugh

"Possibly so." with humor. "Do your memories tell you if you have mortal family that will be concerned for you?"

And her warmth vanishes

"My parents are .. no, they will not be concerned"

"This is a sensitive topic." he observes "I'm sorry. As long as you are aware there can be dangerous complications when mortal relations aren't taken care of."

"I assure you, when the time comes, I'll take care of my step father"

A pause. "Please, recall the Escheat." quietly "And recall that I am Liam."

"oh...so you're a Liam" A nod "I see. I will remember that, Baron"

"I am... curious that you could not tell my House."

"there was something off about you, but I don't know the symbols yet? Maybe my..past lives never encountereed one?""

"It's possible; the House was based in France. The Kingdom of Neustra."

"Lovely" She says

"Do you know aught of my House?"

"Not a thing except.. that you're fond of mortals?" Guessing

A shy smile. "Yes. In that, we believe they are the fount of Dreams; they, in a Real way, created us. They provide us with Glamour. They are to be protected."

"That said, I understand Realpolitik. There are times when choices must be made."
