When she is gone, he tastes the soup.

It's veggie noodle, but despite the lack of meat.. it tastes pretty good. More importantly? It's cutting through the sniffles

He settles in to sip and read.

Story isn't bad

He tries to keep himself entertained with it even as his congestion and fatigue grow.

When Adam sleeps, the medicine wheel works it's magic. His mother's love and concern from him- he knows what it's like to be unable to help a child who is becoming a man, not the way you used to. He feels Emma's professional gentle mix seeing things from the pooka's eyes.

He sleeps fitfully, tossing and snorking. He blearily tries to sit up, shoving pillows to support him, and then his head lolls and he dozes off again.

Even pooka have problems... he's..she's so scared about Poppy...losing her. The dear old pooka is wonderful and Emma hopes Adam's family thrives, for she fears she is about to lose hers

Adam frowns in his sleep and dreams briefly of Grandma Darcy. Not the GrandDame, but the woman in the Victorian house.

Yes, it would be like losing her for him

and he sleeps... perhaps an understanding of others growing.

He wakes through the night, though, for a glass of water or to blow his nose or to pee.

Better tahn the messy alternative that last one

Morning finds him sleeping late, and groggy on waking. He looks around.

There is a cup of tea on his nightstand, still steaming!

He takes it and drinks, the warm liquid washing and soothing his throat. "Nab?" he honks quietly.

The tea is good! Mint and lemon and honey and ginger.

"Ugh." Not at the tea, but at his state. He drinks more.

"I'm here" Nab assures coming out of the batthroom

"Hey.....!" groggy but happy "Thank you for the tea."

"It's good. Can I have a hug?"

"You could have molre than that, but Doc Emma might make murder face" She hugs him "And I didn't get you the tea. That was the Doc." A giggle at something "I told her I know her sexual fantasies.. she pulled out surgical tape and eyed my lips"

A dopey grin. "Tell her tank you? Oooh. Nab. You think you could sneak Dumas in here?"

"Easy peasy.. he's been outside your door" She admits

"Led him in?"

She opens the door, Dumas perks up wags, and ..waits. Can he come in can he come in please please?

His training is working

"Dumass?" Adam calls thickly.

And that's all it takes the dog bounds up on his bed and moves to him He has MISSED his boy

"Oof." Adam is laid out by the dog's affection, but woogies him from prone anyway. "Hey. Good boy. Manners......." (He sounds weird and smells weird too.)

Dumas seems to grasp his boy is now well and sniffs, a soft lick, then lays down to him. the dog's body heat feels.. good

"Aw." he cuddles the dog.

"He's a snuggler that one"

"Goo boy." He praises, and looks at Nab. "Anything interesting happening? You sit, tell me?" He makes room.

She settles so it's the three of them on the bed. "Well...Minerva said to tell you thank you for the nice letter you sent her mother. It's not how she would have worded somethings but then it was your letter. She hopes you get well soon"

"Mmph."

"Hey, she's at least being nice" A pause "what else? Sir Sergei said that he and Alanza have the animal duties. restore youself."

"Aw fuck." Adam croaks.

"Adam, he understands." She says "Alanza wants to drop by and wave at you after her duties. Let's see. Shalimar got you some bath salts. I'm. .hoping it's not a gag."

"I bis Alanza.... pass on the bath salts. Turn me inna a zombie or somethig."

"Probably just turn you green but yeah"

He turns to cuddle Nab. "What else?"

Nab cuddles him the dog cuddles him from the other side. It's actually toasty nice

She strokes his hair "Well... of course the big news is on Sparrow and her new hold still"

"She's not gonna be here anymore." Sadly.

"I Know.." A sigh "Damn. I could watch her inhale and be happy"

"Yeah. I wish....."

"Sorry, baby. She doesn't drive with a stick"
