AN honest face "Kind of cheated"

"I can understand that, and I don't disagree with you." The baron considers.

BIC: "But it's okay. Lots of kids aren't doing it this year. Because of the Covid"

"We could arrange something else, if you like. Same kinds of ideas."

"Maybe halloween earlier?" Hopeful

August jots a quick note and folds it, hands it to Benny. "Please seek Baroness Coradel, and deliver this. Wait for a reply. And return here with it."

"Yes, Baron!" He beams and rushes off

August starts transcribing the chicken.... the notes, and forming answers in return for the messages he's recieved.

Whoof.. the boy will need tutoring in hand writing

ANd Benny seeks the Baroness

The Baroness is found having just finished conferencing with the steward about preparations for Samhain festivities.

"Baroness" Benny says "It is I. Page Benny? I have a note from the baron. I'm to give it to you and wait for a response" A pause "Please"

"Ah. Benny." She smiles down at him. "Let me see it, please."

He hands it up with a smile

She takes it, but doesn't read it right away. "How do you like EarthRunes, Benny?"

"I like it very much thank you. I hope to fight against the forces of darkness in the battle to save dreams!" He grins

"I am sure you will have the chance, eventually." She opens the note and reads over it, frowning slightly. "Hm. That's interesting. Benny, I believe this will require that I speak with the Baron directly. Would you please escort me to where he was when you left him?"

"It would be my owner..err honor!" He says and offers up his arm. Trying to mime the older men

She smiles, charmed, and rests her fingers lightly on his forearm. "Lead the way."

And he guides her to AUgust's study!

Hopefully he gets the door....

It takes him a moment then.. he does

August looks up, and instantly there's that glow in his eyes. He stands.

"Thank you, Benny." She steps in and goes to August, touches his hand. "I received your note."

"Baron, the Baroness wanted to handle this herself"

"And you're welcome" He waves "Uhm.. should I go or stay?"

August takes her hand, kisses it. "Would you wait outside for us, please, Benny?"

"YES, Baron" And he soldier marches out

"Close the door, please, Benny."

A gentle reminder.

When the door shuts, August comes forward and kisses her. "Hello."

"Hello," she says with a smile after the kiss.

"Is this what you wished to discuss? I like the premise...." Another kiss.

"I wished to speak with you about Benny. And Samhain. Being Kithain, the night holds dangers for him. But he is a child and feels cheated about not having the holidays others will. Do you think -we- might offer him something?"

"I had an idea in mind."

"Hmm...what were you thinking of? I don't want to see him put at risk. He's rather charming."

"Our home."

"It's in no way enchanted. There's enough room. Draw the curtains, dim the lights, and bar the door, it should be safe from chimera. A few Halloween movies, popcorn, candy..... he could stay up at late as he likes and sleep on the couch."

"Interesting! Are you thinking of having him stay there alone?"

August frowns. "That's the issue. I would rather have someone with him, someone we could trust. But I don't think any Fae would be safe to leave with him, given the nature of the night."

She considers. "What of Minerva's mother?"

August considers it. "Do you think she would? Bachdion would have to ask."

"If it is to be her, perhaps best that Benny go to her, instead of introducing her to our home....."

"Yes. He'd be likely to explore, and if he went in the lower floor....

"The door can be locked." He reminds her.

"True. But still."

"An apartment building full of mortals seems....safer."

"Yes, let's see if there's some way Bachdion can get him settled with her for the night. Failing that, we'll reconsider our house, but also figure out somebody to stay there." Then she gives him a sudden look. "You aren't trying to get out of Samhain festivities by pulling babysitting duty, are you?"
