Sir Bachdion says "Adam, we know each other pretty well right?"

"Yes, Sir."

"Then... why do I feel you're not happy but don't want to make waves?"

"I don't know, Sir."

A worried look "Did you hate it that much?"

A long pause.

"yes sir"

"Okay. Damn. I was afraid of this. Which of those Iowan bigots tried to bully you? " A scowl "I'll get satisfaction, or by god there will be a duel" His hand goes to his hilt

"No one, Sir."

"Now Adam, I understand, you want a chance to defend your own honor, and if you wish to be the one challenging someone to a duel then so be it, but I'll make sure it goes through the right channel. Which ever DeBuke is treating you like dirt will face your steel but I need to know their name"

He says backing the young man to the hilt

"No DeBuke bullied me, Sir."

"Oh? Then.. ah, mm" A blush "I might be exhibiting some satyr passion neeedlessly. Sorry lad. Wht's the problem with the place then?"

He shakes his head. "No problem, Sir."

"Well, what did you hate about it?" He takes a seat on a bench to hear the fellow out

Adam remains standing, shakes his head. "Nothing, Sir."

"Ah. Adam. You just said you did hate it. Now.. You're closing up like a hand fan here."

"I'm tired, Sir, and my head hurts. May I be excused?"

"Of course. Do you want to skip lessons in Wayfare today? We were going to go out and practice on this island.. but it can wait"

"Yes, please. Thank you, Sir." Adam walks away towards the manor and, presumably, his room.

Earl enters the library, hoping to find Zara

"Earl." August nods from his research materials. "Hello."

"Ah," he says "have you seen Zara?" Earl looks a bit nervous

Bronte AND the spiders are here...

"Oh, hello Bronte, hello ladies" He says

"No." A small sad smile. "One doesn't see her, unless she wishes it."

"This I know" Earl says but smiles a bit

"She is reading!"

From... a grate?

"oh" He turns and looks down at the grate

Black eyes blink up between the metalwork. "Tis cozy within."

August peers over as well.

One of the spiders in the grate agrees

"Hello, Zara."

"Aye, hello."

"Oh you've gone Basement" earl says but doesn't seem upset

"Love, I have been unseelie for a month."

August pauses, and closes up his materials.

"A moment of discretion, please?"

"Well, fair" he agrees and turns his eyes to give her ..discretion

August does the same by packing his satchel.

A scrape of metal, the soft hiss of silk.

"August, how have you been?" earl inquires while they both are gents

He nods. "I am well. You?"

"oh, mistakes have been made" he sighs "But I am trying to rectify"

"Mistakes?" Zara lays her hand upon Earl's forearm in a gesture of greeting/affection.
