Adam is allowed to walk, of course, once he's returned to ER. He wanders the halls Siv lead him to. She seems worried, but unsure what to say so she finally says "It'll be okay"

"Yeah. One way or another. Can we go home?"

"You don't want to look around?" She asks "I mean, there's a lot to see here. Might take your mind off things??"

"Sir Bachdion gave me a tour. "

"Aye? Well, the library has books of every notion"

And just then, a squire bounces down... the Boggan Tylar ap Liam "Captain, And.. . is this Adam?"

"Aye, Squire Tylar, this is Adam. What can we do for ye?" Siv says noting the boggan's got his business face on

Adam nods in greeting to the squire.

"It's Sir Sergei, he as hoping Adam would join in the ayrie?"

Adam seems nonplussed, but will go.

He knows the way so goes up and up, "There you are," the Varich nods "I require your assistance"

Adam bows. "Yes, Sir." He steps forward to help.

He sees a nest of three hawk chicks. He had seen them before but they are awake and alive... "Here, let me show you how to feed them. I need you to do so every now and then, and watch them. Their mother is missing. I must find her. " His voice is cool, but there is an intensity in his eyes that denotes that wahtever has stolen or kept his bird from returning maybe in for a world of pain.

Adam nods. Then a little grin. "Kinda.... naked, aren't they?"

"So are we all born, Mister Adam," He says , but his expression softens just a bit "Naked and helpless in a world where we are lucky if one or two individuals out of billions cares for us. " A dignified response he adds, "I have heard some of the pooka refer to young ones as 'floofs' when the down is particularly pronounced" Then he shows him "You feed them so..." and demonstrates

Adam takes a piece of meat and copies the Varich.

the greedy little things seem ready to knock each other over " Good good... well done. They are carnivores, and to not feed on life is death for them," The Varich says "Pity the poor hunter, he is dead without the hunted where as the hunted have all the world to feast on. And yet, which ones of us would not want to be hunter instead of hunted? A conundrum." A look at Adam "I am to understand you maybe residing here for a time?"

"Uh.... maybe."He does not sound hopeful. "Depends on if they want me."

"I see. If you find a mentor here, I may end up using you as well. With Sir Colton knighted and Stormed or whatever it is trolls call it, I am short assistance with Kennels and Ayrie. You've shown a talent for the latter. In exchange for your services, I thought I would teach you more falconry, and perhaps arrange for you to get a bird of your own. Most likely a red tailed hawk like these little ones. They're amiable birds compared to some, good for beginers but no less beautiful in the stoop and kill"

"I'd.... I'd love that, Sir. If I can." with sad wistfulness.

A look, "I see. " A nod "You seem concerned that they may not want you. That you may not have a place here . Or anywhere? not truly?"

Adam shrugs, and then nods.

"I think, young Adam, you understand Sidhe better now. Most of us are thrust into a world where those who are mortal family are strangers. Where loyalty we thought was forever is forgotten or outright betrayed. Where ever other kith has their place, but at the same time resents us when we take ours, and resents us when we don't. Understand, we are dreams of power, and with power there is always an element of tragedy. You seek to join a kith of beauty , wonder, but also sorrow and tragedy. I do not say discourage, but rather, embrace that fact. Your trials are but another source of strength, if you can forge them into such through will and determination. I wish you a happier place, but should you find yourself, your place, a miserable one, then remember that the wolf who walks in cold winter alone might be dying, but he's majestic in his endurance."

A slow nod, "And I must go now to find the mother. If some idiot hill billy has shot her down I will bring such doom upon him that his family will tell stories for seven generations about how he ended up in an asylum mad with fear and regret"

"Y....Yes Sir. Are these done eating or how much more should I feel them?"

And he tells him, and how often and then goes saying "If this takes longer than a day I'll have someone releive you and take over so you can go"

And Sir Sergei leaves

"A day.....!?!?" But Adam follows instructions. "Guess I'm not going home yet...." he tells them.

And the birds seem to agree

When they are fed, and he has cleaned up as much as he can, he goes looking for Siv.

She finds Siv packed and ready to go, sipping a drink in the garden

"I can't leave yet, sorry. Sir Sergi wants me to feed the birds."

"I'm sorry what? Are you serious?" A blink

"I said I wanted to leave but now I'm not, so I apologise for changing plans." He explains.

"It should only be a day."

"Only a day.. " A soft shake of her head at the wording, but then she says "Thank you for letting me know. And it's nice of you to help Sir Sergei out"

"I like the animals. Uh. What do I do now?"

"Well, you check on the hawks every few hours if needed it sounds like" Siv says "But between that, your time is your own. " Siv says "I guess you can't go too far from the hold in those breaks though. What do you WANT to do?" A pause "And when's the last time you ate?"

"Uh. The last time they fed me?"

Brow "And that was?"

"Before we got here, I guess?"

"Right, let's go .. now unlike Fenix, the kitchen here is pretty much off limits to staff. Trust me I learned that the hard way. The boggans see it as rude."

"I haven't really hung out in the kitchens in Mexico....."

"Well definitely unlike the lodge"

"At Rivervale, I've helped. And once at the DeBuke farm."

She leads him to the dining area "Have a seat"

"I can get it myself....."

"No you can't, that's what I'm trying to tell you. Neither can I. we're not staff"

"Well...."he looks around baffled "How?Magic?"
