Delores says "Yes, but isn't love the one place where fear can seize Fiona? "

Coradel turns at the gentle clearing of the throat (or other attention-getting sound). "August!" she smiles and goes to him. reaching with her free hand.

Looking back to Delores, she explains, "It's different. Fear that a loved one is endangered? That's terrifying." She gives August a tender look before continuing. "But merely being afraid that you might have a fight? No, that doesn't strike me as particularly Fiona at all."

"Baron" Delores turns, "Would you like a drink?" She offers one, apparently she had a tray out.

"August, have I often shied away from telling you how I feel?" she drags him into the discussion.

"Yes, I suppose she needs to Lion up a little. Nevermind her own fellow did indeed have another" Yes, trust a boggan to have tabs on the gossip

"Oh, yes...and honestly, I hope the Captain and her lover work out something more open than whatever vaguely-defined thing they have right now. She seems to enjoy many partners, and while she might enjoy this Jonas, I'm not sure he's given her sufficient reason to limit herself."

"What would be sufficient reason?" Curious is the Steward

"No, you have not...." Mystified, August is dragged in.

"Sorry, what?"

"Oh, Captain Waveborn accidentally had sex with somebody she didn't intend to after the floral incident at Carnivale, and now she's been avoiding talking to her lover about it." Coradel sounds irritated about this choice of reaction.

August blanches.

"Acci....."

And then to Delores, "Well, honestly, I don't know this Jonas well at all. I've seen him, but that's about it. But she says he makes her feel 'safe'...I'd be more impressed if he made her feel bold, adventurous, daring. Or ...if that's the life she wants, then the two of them should oath and have done with the uncertainty. But I don't get the sense that that's what she really wants."

A drink is handed to August

"They mistook each other while still flowers, and found themselves in the midst of the act as they transformed back," she explains to August.

"Which is all well and good if one is ready to deal with the aftermath. But she's been avoiding it, rather than dealing with it head-on, and I'm not impressed."

Coradel sighs. "Trolls are so pathetic, sometimes."

He takes it and drinks.

"A week is definitely too long to wait," Delores says "Coradel, forgive the informal but ,if I might offer my services as a friend and boggan with your student?"

A bemused look. "Are you offering to me, or to the Captain."

"I mean...are you offering to help her, or to tell me how to help her?"

"To you, I think if I get a peek of Jonas and her together I can give you a break down on how serious it is."

"And then how you help once you find out what I notice, well, t hat's up to you"

"Oh." Coradel considers that with a slow nod. "That might be helpful, yes."

"Good , I have found myself with more free time of late so good to occupy myself"

"It might be.... up to them? Thier business?"

He shushes.

"Sorry."

"Yes, August, but she asked my advice."

"Yes, sorry."

"It's fine, my love." She smiles and claims a kiss from him.

A distracted kiss.

"Excuse me." With a bow.

"Oh...all right." Surprised, she nods to him, and lets him go. "Odd," she says as he goes, but then shrugs. "Ah well. So, Delores...yes, observe them, if you can, and let me know what you think of their situation. I truly think the Captain would be happiest if she were free in spirit and body, at least for a bit more of her life, but...well, tell me what you see."

"I will, I can tell you what I see with relations to others here," She observes

"Mmmm." Then a pause, then a smile. "Anything you feel moved to share? About anybody?" She sips.

"She respects you, and is a bit amazed at you, I can tell you that. There are times she kind of wants to kick you in the rump, but I've noticed that's when your'e testing how far you can push her so.. mission accomplished there? Shes' rather frustrated with August and Zara...I suspect she thinks what ever is keeping them from being friends is profoundly stupid but she worries she's making things worse in pushing. She and Leo are hitting it off splendidly, but the overall vibe is one of surprise that she's the boring one. I get the feeling in her own lodge she was atypical. Here, she's a troll wtih maritime leanings"

"She also feels a bit trapped... I think she understand why her parents sent her here, but now that choice has been taken from her, she resents it just a little"

"That.. might be one of the things holding her back from fully joining in. Hard to free yourself when you wonder if it will make everyone's approval on both her parents side and the Fiona side. SHe's torn"

"How odd. I got the distinct impression that her parents didn't want to send her here, but were...well, releasing her to explore her interests. Don't you think so?"

"I not only think so, I'm pretty sure that was their intent, but I'm not sure that's how she reads it. Trolls can be hard to understand sometime. They're very duty bound." She glances over at Oswald in the distance "We could ask one's opinion if you want? Vague or non vague"

"Maybe. Hm...does the Captain speak with Oswald much? Perhaps she needs to be able to touch base with one of her kith." She waves the troll over.

Oswald approaches and bows "Baroness, Steward" He says 'How can I help you?"

"Oswald, you've talked to Captain Siv, yes?" Delores asks.

"A few times, yes" He looks curious

Delores lets the Baroness take it from there

"Thane, I'm concerned that the Captain may be struggling with her training. What's your impression of her situation?"

"She seems to give it her all at combat, and she volunteered to take lessons to improve her calligraphy, so she's not afraid of hard work. " A pause "I do see her eying the trods kind of wistfully, and i mention where they go, to firnost and such, and she says she's not sure she's allowed. "
