"Sir..err Baron? Is everything okay?" Squire Tylar asks

August jerks up, startled.

"Sorry, Tylar? I didn't... ah, you said?"

"You seem frustrated. What are you working on if I may ask?" He looks at the crumpled map in the trash

"Just... seeking wisdom. And.... some accounting." He stands and gets a glass of water, drinks. "Squire.... you were instrumental in the establishment of the banner house. If I could, I would... that is... I wish to recognize all who quested with us. I have little to offer but... what boon might I grant you?"

"May I Join the house formely lord?" Hopeful "I mean, the tunic and all?"

"A nice tabbard or shield with the Banner on it I can carry proudly?"

"Tylar... are you sure? You know how others will see you."

"I was going to become a Liam anyway, Lord. And yes. I know. I lived it briefly." He said, reminding of the time his own kith considreed ill of him for siding with his liege instead of the Steward that ugly month

August nods gravely. "I'd be happy to have you, Tylar. There is.. ah, a review period. There are Oaths. I will let Count Jude know of your wishes, and my support."

"It... I...." August takes a breath. "We reside and rely on Earth Runes but..... the bannerhouse is not of EarthRues. And ..... the banner house has no... revenue stream."

"You could... a bit of dross from every member to pool together, like in the story of Jacob of the bible? 7 years famine such? Everyone tithes , so to speak, then teh dross goes where it is most needed. And then there's also making the musing work for you"

August combs his fingers through his hair. "Yes..... if each one could give as much. I would not require more than others can give....."

"I have uhm some dross. Remember that month when I had no friends or ..well, I thoughtr I might be cut off from dross here so I went looking for some. "
