A smile and nod "Hast thou drafted young Tylar into the Housebranch?"

"No. I plan to offer him the opportunity."

"Good good, we must have new blood to appease the volcano god"

"Ahhh.... yes. Certainly."

They hear Oswald "And how can I help you?" The nicest thane around says to.. someone

"Yes. I'm here to sign up with the Truthbranches?" A small voice pipes up

August blinks and turns.

A small satyress childling of about 8 years of age wearing pink and silver smoothes her dress. She has at her side a hoplon shield, rounded, with a silver lioness on a crimson field. In her other hand is a spear. She is talking to Oswald, "I understand they can take Fiona too. "

"Well, you'd want to talk to, there he is.. Si..Baron August?" Oswald calls out, "This young lady would like to talk to you"

August approaches and kneels to her eye level. "How can I help you?"

"Baron Truthbranch? THE Baron Truthbranch?" She says suspiciously, "This iisn't some adult 'oh let's humor the kid' trick?"

Temerity reaches for her blade, "Shall I swat her for casting aspirations on your integrity?"

"Peace, Dame." Gently. "I am August Truthbranch."

"Hello My lord, I am Squire Dory ap Fiona, Dory like the Greecian spear. NOT Dory like the pIxar fish. I am currently without liege. I would like to join your bannerhouse so that I can bring love to all the peoples"

"A pleasure to meet you, Squire Dory. Where do you come from?"

"Yes," Squire Dory says "but not like those rebels near Ottumwa... I'm from the Cedar Rapids area."

He nods. "Who have you served previously?"

"Baron Alvis Creenshaw ap Fiona." She says

"Why did you leave his service?" Gently.

"Is that required for this interview?" She says uncomfortably, scratching her right leg with her left hoof , holding balance well thanks to her spear .

"No. But I would like to know."

"When he heard about the Bannerhouse, I thought it sounded wonderful. He said that House FIona had made a terrible mistake backing a bunch of oathbroken churchmice that groveled in the dust and forgotten what it was to be true nobles. That we shamed ourselves by assocation with it" The satyress says

"Church MICE?" Temerity steams

A soft sigh. "And so you left his service?"

"I asked to, he offered. He said I'd soon regret my mistake. Well, I don't regret helping people find love, be it romance, or like family" A firm nod

August gives her a tender smile. "I would like you to stay with us a while, see if that holds true. What is your situation in terms of family?"

"My dad's with a band" She says "he checks up on me now and then, he's a satyr too." Dory then adds "Mom died. I kinda miss her"

"I'm sorry, Dory. "

"It's okay. Drug overuse is nasty" She agrees

August nods. "Ok. Will you stay with is a while?"

"Of course, I kind of have to join the Bannerhouse Truthbranch." She says "So, where's my knight? I assume you're issuing me a new liege?"

Temerity sniffs "And they call me Charity"

but despite her sniff the mouse pooka seems to approve of that character trait

He grins. "That is a good question. Let's answer it together?"

"Yes, Baron. Lead on. I have a backpack full of supplies and a heart full of Fiona fearlessness!" The girl says

Oswald says "Should I show her to a guest quarters, lord?"

August chuckles. "Yes please, Thane. And introduce her to Delores?"

"Right away, follow me, Squire" He says

Dory bows and withdraws

"I think she might do well here."

Temerity says "We'll have to break her down, recast her in your image my lord"

"Ahh.... if I understand you, Dame, yes."
