That makes him chuckle. "Thank you, Dame. Will you excuse me?"

"May your victory be total" She bows clearly fine with that

August heads off towards his study.

There's a study, but with a note from Delores 'Dear Baron, as it is Friday the 13th, your squire velvet has suggested a gift or card for Miss Zara. I'll have Sir Bachdion drop it off. I am sorry for such short notice but I never heard of such a thing as this day being celebrated. I have a selection of three items. Manuscrit trouvé à Saragosse, Polish Literature I'm told is quite good. two, A map of Victorian Age Russia, beautifully drawn by hand. Or three, a smooth stone from Mount Parnassus, the mountain where the Oracle of Delphi was found. I figure you could use one for today, and another for yule if you like'

He reads, and smiles softly before going in search of the Steward.

He finds Delores easily enough, she's just finished assining some duties to the staff, then she turns and bows "Baron"

He offers a graceful nod in return. "Thank you for your thoughtfulness, Steward. I'd like to send Zara the book you mentioned. Ah. How can I repay you?"

"No need, It's what I do." She says "But if you feel you must, then maybe some time someone else needs a gift and it would be useful to have your scribe skills you could pay it forward?"

"Certainly. And, my thanks again."

"YOu're welcome. A big thanks to your squire who informed me. Did you know Friday the 13th was a thing for some sluagh?I surely didn't"

"I knew it was a favorite day for her, of course, but not that it was celebrated, as such."

"Maybe it is jsut for herk, but your squire was sure it applied so... glad it was caught." She moves "Where did i... " She finds the book "here we go. Did you want to wrap it yourself, or just attach a card?"

"I will wrap it. She enjoys the suspense." He takes it. "I am in your debt, Steward."

"Like I said, pay it forward if you feel you are. I'm Steward, in charge of needed supplies. Sounds like this was right up my alley" A smile as she hands it over.

He takes it. "The stone, from the oracle's mountain? May I have that for Yule? I'm happy to try to reimburse...."

Delores gives him a long suffering look, "Of course you can," She gets it and hands it over as well, "And again.. just pay it forward"

"Yes, Ma'am."

"Thank you, Baron" She says

He nods politely and returns to his study to wrap the book.

And then either take it back to Delores to take to Bachdion, or to Bachdion himself.

Bachdion himself greets him "Hello"

"Sir." He smiles. "Will you send this to Miss Zara?" He offers the package. "And allow me to repay you for the effort in some way?"

"Oh sure, bit of dross later will do it" he takes it

August nods, although his forehead wrinkles lightly. "Of course. Thank you."

"Everything okay, Baron?" The knight notices the look

"Yes."

"Anything you want to talk about?"

A quick grin of self-awareness. "No, Sir, thank you for your offer. I do appreciate it."

"All is well with you, I hope?"

"Oh I'm fine, helped Squire Colton.. oh, he's SIR Colton now.. isn't that grand?"

A smile blossoms on August's face. "That IS good news."

"Not sure what House he'll join, but Sparrow suspects Fiona is going to be the one he goes with"

A blink. "Really?"

"I thought Liam had a chance, but couldn't make a wager against the silver lion."

August frowns, then his expression smoothes to nothing. "Of course."

"You know, August, if you want to talk to the boy you might be able to recruit him. He's not decided yet. "

He shakes his head. "I would not interfere."

"Well, you seem to hope he joins Liam at least? WHich is natural":

"My fondest hope is that he finds the House that he can best serve, and that can support him best."

"Well, he's not likely to go to Leanhaun, that' s for certain"

"True." He says with emphasis.

"Yes, good reason to loathe them. But I think he'll always be a friend to House Liam and Fiona. Oh. I should get this to your friend" He says taking the book

"Thank you, Sir." Sincerely. "I will find the dross for you."

"Oh just a little will be fine, helps me flicker flash" he bows and vanishes

And August heads -back- to his study.
