And Zara has her grass wove thanks to it missing.

August gets clipped by the tail, and while it hurts.. worse is, for just a moment, he forgets which fork to use for salads.

He staggers but keeps his feet and shouts "Propaganda! That's not wisdom, it's an advertisement!!!"

"Damn, dman, double damn..."

Coradel frowns and, flicking her hand, runs up behind the creature which seems to be aiming for anybody other than her. She's determined to get on its back and climb it.

Zara searches the grass for her bunk-object.

"Come up with a single, unique, original thought!" August bellows a challenge.

And he attacks with his blade.

"Thy ignorance is thy folly, not thy strength!" She releases the foul fortune at the chimera.

Coradel grabs onto its hide and scales the thing as swiftly as a squirrel climbs a tree.

"All you need to know is in one book, churchboy... and sides, just get someone else to splain it to you" It says insulting August's faith and getting it wrong

Then the glamour whammies it... and the creature sways as if hit by a force..

And Ivory stabs it's right foot making it hop a bit

That forces Coradel to hold on a moment. But then she flickers her wrist and, blade in hand, stabs it through its scaly neck.

...or tries to.

August's own attack whirls and strikes.. with raw speed and... while his sword cuts through a bit...on his return swing his book brushes the creature

And the creature howls in pain, as a shock from the book, light high voltage, arches through it. Not electricity, but something even more energizing and enlightning!

"Augustine's Confessions! Ignatius's Spiritual Exercises!"

August gives the book a startled look and tries again.

Zara withdraws further, away from the noise and chaos.

Coradel cuts the things neck, but it as if its' head is the least needed part of it, for it still talks "Without penetration, it's not rape"

Stunned by the lack of effect, Coradel just hangs on for a moment before trying again with the sword.

And she tries to dredge up something she memorized, but it was a while ago. It comes to her in bits: "Facts are...facts are fine,... fer as they go...but they're like...like..."

She stops uncertain of the next word, and stabs again.

"The pen is mightier than the sword."

If the whisper can be heard? Who knows.

It turns eyes locking on the sluagh, not so much hearing as feeling..

And STEPS on August!

As it charges over him to get to her!

"Oh! Like waterbugs!" STAB "like waterbugs skittering atop the water." STAB "Legends, now --" STAB_ "they go deep down" STAB "and bring up the heart of a story!"

"AUGUST!!!"

And there's a smell of burning.. as the creature already wounded in the foot now screams as the book below it's great foot is like raw lightning up it's leg!

It snarls in frustration and pain "The only good indian is a dead ...." And Coradel's strikes slow it.. her words seeming to annoy but finally it might be ready to go down

Ivory clipped by a tail sways.. and for a moment looks like he doesn't know where he is.

Coradel doesn't stop hitting as often as she can, more fiercely now as she saw August crumple under the thing's foot.

""We can easily forgive a child who is afraid of the dark; the real tragedy of life is when men are afraid of the light." Zara tries. "Plato."

August is not dead, as he punches up with the book weakly.

And ... in trying to reach Zara..her words both lure it, hhyet also slow it down..."You're just..."

And it dies with a thud in front of her. August buried under there somewhere

the banality tinged Chimera breaks apart...into great chunks. Just in time for folks to hear the baying of hounds

"AUGUST!" Coradel struggles out of the mess of chimera and digs immediately to find her trueheart.

The glamour that flows free is not so much part of the beast, as it was contained by him trapped within it..and now it floods into those closest. Zara drinks in a great deal...

And Coradel, only a little...

but trivia of all sorts is RACING through everyone's brains!

For the next few hours, they are really going to be top of their game for Jeopardy shows and Trivial pursuit

August is out cold, wounded

"Get the healer! Get the healer!!" Coradel screams.

And Sir Sergei has arrived "I see I and the hounds are too late." he carries with him a large dictionary

"August!" Zara winces at the scream, and is off like a shot... possum hunting.

The Varich watches the sluagh go with distaste but bends down "may I?" He is better with animals than people but knows first aid at least
