"Ivory, could you look outside? I shall stay at the threshold until you call for aid..."

"I'll take a look" He nods and draws his blade going outside.

As he vanishes, Squire Colton comes from the direction that Enri went down, the pooka boy returning with him.

"You realize I don't believe a word you say?" Colton says.

"Enri does what he can, Colton."

"It's all true, especially the part about hwo the baronesses will banish you if you fail in this most important mission in the world! By order of the Regent and the Regent mother, protect that dragon" enri calls on all the authority he doesn't have

1122 puffs up at the trolls approach, as intimidating as a tiny clockwork spider may be.

And Colton clearly doesn't believe a word but is confused enough to go along, "yes, Miss Zara. But apparently he thinks I'm guarding a dragon?"

"Ah. Ah, yes. Colton, aught has happened... Bronte has been hurt and is frightened. Something happened outside. I would not leave her alone..."

"Who would hurt a cute little dragonling like..." He ignores 1122 (Dangerous, could lead to a bite!) but bends down to shhh and assure Bronte "Okay okay. I get it now, Bronte. I' know i'm not the big reader, but I'll protect you as long as Miss Zara needs me too. Okay?"

He then says "Unless you want me to go out and find what hurt her?" Colton offers.

"Ivory is outside, but he is a fighter... this may demand a witch, nu?"

"Bronte, wilt thou stay with Colton for a while? He shall protect thee,"

"Library?" Bronte peeps

"Of course, the library" Colton says offering hsi hands to the dragon "We'll go the library and you can direct me to the best books...your favorites." the boy is not a reader, but he's good with animals. Give the Varich credit for that.

Bronte, no mere animal, is still molified and flaps to the boys's glass arm

A bow to Colton. "Thank you. And thank you, Enri."

Enri nods "This way, I'll show you the dangers we should run away from" And he heads outside expecting Zara to follow chanting "yeah though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death... I shall fear evil..because it's mean.. but thou art with me, and a slower runner than me... thy stumble and chance of being eatten first, they comfort me."

It is clear if August has mentioned a Psalm, the pooka has mangled it.

Zara follows the pooka outside, wary.

And beyond the garden, closer to the area around her stream... they see it.

Welcome to Jurasic park indeed, the creature has a T rex shape and design. The chimera's eyes are dull, but it's voice roars boastfully. It stomps about on two great mishappen feat meant to destroy what it treads upon. It is huge! And it's tail is longer than the dinosaur is often depicted as having, and quick...

"ALl you need to know is all you need to know!" The thing brays "books won't teach you nothing worth knowing! "

Ivory has found it too and drawn his blade, "Okay, did you hurt the book wyrm?"

The Chimera grins a reptile grin, "that Nerd? HAR HAR! "

Enri mutters "It's like a redcap took the lizard formula"

Zara hisses. "What is this?"

The chimera looks over and sees Zara, and it sneers, "Wimmen is only good for samwhichs and babymaking" And it's tail thunders over her with ALARMING speed!

Zara drops to the ground and rolls, away from the tail.

It nearly strikes her, missing by inches, and the waves of force are bad... the waves of it's willful stupidity even works. For a brief moment, Zara forgets what a Palindrome is! The word blinks from her vocabulary! It returns instantly, but if it had struck....

Ivory lashes out, stabbing at the creature's flank! "Hey, back off from my sister!"

Coradel strides out at the sound of a yelling chimera and Ivory's response. "What's going on....here?" A surprised blink at the strange behemoth in the garden.

"Albnos belong in circuses.." The chimera snaps and bites at Ivory who raises a shield just in time. Though he loses the shield as the creature throws it away.

Ivory blinks "For a moment i think I lost which continent has Uganda"

Coradel rushes forward, skirts flowing magnificently, and gets between Ivory and the beast. "Stand down, beast! I give you one chance!"

August now rushes out, a book in one hand and his blade in the other.

"Baroness? I can fight...just saying" Ivory reminds

"Get your shield!" she snaps at the boy, hoping it's still in reach.

She flickers her wrist, and bow and arrow are ready, and she has sighted on the monster's eye.

As for whatever this is, it ignores the words of the Baroness, as that eye she's lining up for turns on August and sees what he's carrying "Book learning just keeps you from getting a REAL Job!" And he charges towards the other Liam.

"IGNORANCE IS BLISS, AND AN UN-EXAMINED LIFE IS NOT WORTH LIVING!" one of the world's longest, driest battle cries as he confronts the chimera.

Zara blinks, scooting back from the chaos...

Oh, of course, a spell... deft hands snatch up a few blades of grass, and she begins to weave them together...

Coradel fires, shouting, "August, watch out!"

The creature swings it's tail towards August, and then turns to bite Zara both at the same time.

And of course the battle cry serves to activate the magic of his blade....

Zara, in retreat, proves almost out of reach for it's bite!

.... as he tries to close the distance between targets to protect Zara.

Zara scrambles further back with a hiss.

The arrow sticks into the side of the creature's face but does not hit the eye, rather embedding between scales the creature announces "Pain is just weakness leaving the body"
