The hold is a madhouse of preperation, Delores is handling supplies so the kitchens are almost off limits. Food will be brought to YOU. Rather htan risking folks getting in and 'snitching'

For Sparrow, she finds herself almost bombarded servants who shoot past her rather than talk to her.It's like being a frog in a video game

"Ack!" She whirls, wings held high. She has a clipboard in the crook of one arm.

"pardon, going through...cheese curd delivery" and gone goes whoever that was

"Okay, okay...." You know, maybe there is somewhere quiet to sit...

She looks for the nearest door and finds a small room certain Beaumayn and a certain Basselope herding Fiona have found refuge and are playing...cards.

"Oh! Am I intruding?"

"Of course not," Jennette says rising with a smile, "Please, join us. Leonora was just about to teach me this game of...poker?"//Leonora smiles "I told her it's not really proper poker unless you wager a bit."

"Don't let her hustle you. I bet she's a hustler." Bird sweeps in, claiming a seat between the pair.

"Here now, slander!" Leonora sniffs with mock hurt.

"Not if it's true." She grins and sticks her tongue out at the Fiona.

A tongue stuck back from the Lioness. Jennette laughs "Are we not supposed to comport ourselves with more decorum?"

"Well, it's just us for the moment."

"Also have you seen the crowds out there? " Leonora adds, "How can you have Decorum when thanes are marching on patrols where theres no room and boggans ready to swarm OVER you where there is?" She starts to deal

"It's a madhouse."

"Oui," Jennette agrees, "I had a sluagh try to talk to me, I could not even hear her for the first few minutes. Did you know she's trying for troubadour?" She the cards she's been given so far.

So far, Sparrow's own hand consists of two cards, a Queen of spades and a two of Diamonds.

"A sluagh? How strange."

"How can she sing if she's whispering?" Leonora agrees

"That's my question... also, is it wrong that I hope Cora likes Gideon as much as I do?"

"Not at all," Jennette smiles at the second question, "And she may get more than one. THe hold is big enough to support it. Have you seen any of the troubadours, Leonora?"

"Any cute ones?" Gently teasing as she looks over at Leo.

Leo laughs "Yes to both. A Varich noble, plays classical it seems? But attractive as the knight is, he's..well, kind of an ice block. Damn shame." Thoughtful "I wonder if I could heat him up?"

"Varich can be.... distant."

"I like Sergei a lot, though. He's been so good with Colton."

"I admit to having doubts about house Varich" Jennette says "But yes, Sir Sergei and Squire Colton have a rapport over animals. "

"Well, not this musician, he makes Sir Sergei look fuzzy."

"August likes classical, I know."

Soon all of them have five cards. Looks like Sparrow also has a Jack of Hearts and a 2 of Hearts.

"So - what, we bet things?"

"Money usually, but that can be dull, secrets, dross? Patrols" A grin "Might make you work for a living, Baroness" Teasing from Leonora

"The baroness works very Hard" Jennette says defensively

"Just joking..geez"

"Hey, I got a job!"

"Didn't I tell you? At school!"

"Oh?" Leonora says curiously

"Working as a studio assistant. It's part time, but it's money coming in!"

"Nice!" Leonora says "that's right up your alley isn't it? Okay, now how much you want to put down on the bet? "

"I keep the room clean, make sure all the supplies are ready for class... so, not hard, but also friendly to my class schedule. Um. Five bucks?"

"Very well" More cards...

Jennette mentions her own job in Jefferson City, "Would you believe I'm working at a book store? I got the job because I spoke French. ISn't that odd? "

"Do they sell french books?"

"They do," Pleased admission "So I guess it does make some sense." Jennette blushes grinned.

"A book store sounds like a nice place to work."

"I don't have a job, besides knighthood and working on my tan. Rough life I know," Leonora says. Cards are passed around... the thing builds. Chores like cleaning blades and armor are thrown in instead of money.

"Yes. So hard."

"Well, like knights picking flowers, somebody's got to do it," Leonora says "Okay ladies, time to show your cards"

"Okay! Two pairs, and a queen..."
