"My ambitions... " She frowns. "I do want a hold of my own. I do. I'll admit to that."

"It just sucks " Leonora frowns, "This is when the Baroness needs you around the most, but this is also your best window of opprutnity."

"Exactly. And... frankly, without her and August, I'd still be half-undone in a slum apartment."

"I think we're underestimating Baroness Coradel here," Delores says "And you underestimate yourself, Baroness Derynn. You support each other, but neither of you is completely lost without the other."

She nods. "Cora will do fine. Especially if this quest works out..."

Jennete smiles at the boggan at that, then says to Sparrow "Regent, I have no visions on how this will work out. But if you hope for a hold, I think there is no shame in considering options. "

"No. But I would consult. I did accept being heir, so I can't just fly off, willy-nilly, after ambition."

"Honorable," Nansaidh says // Claire sighs "Bet she'd cheer you on louder than anyone"

"She might. But she needs to consider what Earth Runes needs. A good count above, certainly..."

"But advisers she can trust, too. And a clear line of succession. We have many good knights - which is, perhaps, the same conundrum faced by the Ducal pair."

"Knight heavy, Count light" Jennette says "Well, I think I would turn down a barony if offered. I am...too much the follower."

"That is not a bad thing. Too many cooks, right?" She hesitates. "There might be an argument that having two baronesses here might be bad for Earth Runes."

"Well, right now it's good she picked you," Claire says "or this hold would be ruderless."

"True. I... think this was needed. Though the timing could have been better."

"Okay," Leonora says, "Look, when I was sained, I was almost sure I'd be like a countess. Rich girl, rich noble right? but I'm having a blast as a knight so for different reasons than Jennette I'd want to stick. But I will say that there are some folks I'd take the hard job if it meant keeping THEM out. I mean, some folks just shouldn't rule because they're tyrants."

"So... maybe you should learn more and see if any monsters stand to take over a spot wehter they're court or not?"

"True, that. I'd want to do good, real good..."

"You will, you do," Jennette says "And if you like Earth runes, then maybe this window isn't a must to leap through. You have a right to be happy as well as dutiful?"

"So much for my plan to consolidate and coordinate friends on various thrones in the Duchy" The Ailil sighs

"Well. I.... I think I have friends here. Or at least might be earning a place."

The Gwydion looks at the Ailil

"Jumping up to the county... I would not want to go alone, I would need a council."

"And I wouldn't want to deprive Earth Runes..."

Nansaidh says "As you said, we are Knight heavy. It would hardly deprive Earthrunes to lose one."

"Well. The decision is yet to be made. Here, and now, we have enough to worry about."

"Good point there," CLaire admits, "So.. with that surprise visit out of the way, what's on the itinerary , your Regency?"

"Well, the staff has done amazing strides on getting the hold back in order. I would like to do something nice to recognize that hard work..."

"Bachdion is still too weak to put out to stud for them" Leonora quips

A snort of a suppressed laugh.

A tsk from Jennette

"Bachdion needs to be patient."

"I swear. Fiona and Satyrs both."

That gets some chuckles, even from Leonora

She flicks her wings. "By the by, Leo - I'm going to want you to make some time for showing Caitir the bow. You are the best archer in the barony, so... prepare for consequences."

"Great, I'm not yet twenty and you want me training my replacement already? " A grin

"Your protege, right? I'm not twenty either. But we're already middle aged, aren't we?"

"I am not going to be the one to tell Dame Agincourt she is 'old' by comparision" Jennette says "that is one scary dougal. "

Claire laughs

"With ballistas."

Even the Gwydion smiles, "That siege work was glorious, wasn't it? Admitedly, Baroness Coradel bravely acted as bait, but the catapults probably killed more than the rest of us combined."

"Absolutely."

Inish calls out, "A supplicant seeks to approach the regent"

Public-face back on. "Send them in, Herald." She climbs the dais, taking the big chair.

A figure approaches all smokey eyes and smiles, a satyr wilder, good looking with long hair, and he's got a confident grin.Behind him is a nervous looking boggan fellow who like many of his kith is roundish...and unlike many has an acoustic guitar.

The Satyr says "I'm Style, your ladyship, and I'd like to show you what I can do." Dazzling smile.

She raises an eyebrow. "Hello... Style. And who is your companion?"

The boggan bows seeming nervous.

"Oh him? that's my backup." Style says "Gideon." He shrugs, "Anyway, I know things are new, and I hear you don't have a Troubadour. That' where I come in."

"Gordon's ALIVE?"
